If your canny they are a good investment, my Mosin Nagant was £80 now people are selling them for £150.

Different types of gun are deactivated in different ways. This Bren (and my bolt-action rifle) can be stripped, cocked, and dry fired - the barrel is cut and welded up. You can't cycle a round, sadly. An assault rifle like an AK47/AKM is almost all welded up.
Older deactivations were more 'accommodating' to the collector and you can cycle rounds and so on - but this comes at a premium.
Absolutely. I've been looking at this stuff for years but never bought anything because I felt like I couldn't justify spending hundreds on what would, essentially, be ornaments. When I realised how much the price is steadily rising on all kinds of militaria it became clear that I could make money on it and so I had a proper reason to put my hand in my pocket.
Now I have enough knowledge to find well-priced items that I can sell on, short term or long term. A recent bayonet I bought made me £130 profit within a week and this Bren could likely be sold for £150 to £200 more than I paid for it right now. Don't you have a Martini Henry somewhere?

Never considered it but with an interest in the Napoleonic wars collecting would probably end up being very expensive.
Yup! That's kind of the cut off point as prices jump up. Brown Bess muskets are about £2,000, Baker Rifles I've seen at £7,000. The bayonets are much more reasonable, though, and the 1796 Pattern swords are lovely wallhangers.
Bet you're fun at parties. I'm already registered with HMRC.
