Guys, I'm quitting the analogues tomorrow and plan to use my e-cig full time.

I currently have an Evod which I occasionally use for emergencies. I bought it from a local market so don't know anything about its specs or battery etc.

Given I'm planning on using it full time, is there anything better off the shelf I should try or is the Evod generally well regarded?

I know very little on e-cigs and don't plan on the insane modding some of you do. I just need something "off the shelf" that gives a good hit, is portable, good battery life and is reasonably discrete.

My Evod is like this one:

evod-single-bls-1.jpg

stick to the basics mate for a few weeks mate, there's 100s of devices all with their own positives, you can spend shed loads of cash on one shopping trip.

After a few weeks; look for a tank with adjustable airflow and a mod (battery) with adjustable power settings, that way it can be customize to your own needs. Your start to know what you need more off.. flavor, vape (cloud), tank size, battery life, battery power.. etc.., then it's time to shop :)

I still like to use my EVOD from time to time, its not the worst tank in the world :) some people never need anything more.

If anything, I'd say to grab an eleaf istick just for the battery life and the option to put a better tank atty on there at some point. Perhaps a Nautilus mini and a pack of coil heads too, if you want a full upgrade and don't want to plunge into full rebuildables just yet.

Then my idea is, after mixing them together, 66.6% vg, 33.3% pg. (which is why Im thinking of getting plainly double the amount of VG as pg, straight easy mix)

That would be 1.5L of eliquid ready for flavours to be added to right? then I could just simply leave them sitting for a month or so, and then with a bit of luck they might taste alright.

Or am I missing something :p please enlighten me :D

Cheers

also, that works out at 20p per 10ml  wow.

You'll end up with all different levels of nicotine if you do that. Flavours are mixed at all different % I use between 5-25% depending on which flavour I'm mixing. I'm not sure about the PG / VG you listed, they sound right but I've always just gone with ones other vapers have suggested. I've been using the Classikool ones from ebay for a couple years now.

Alright cheers,

Iv been experiementing past few days with the liquid I have, iv got some 30pg/70vg liquid, and some the total opposite 70pg/30vg, both same flavour

Right now im vaping 35pg/65vg, anywhere around here or a few % opposite way doesn't really make that much of a different that I can tell really, its only when you get to 50/50 I get the throat hit of pg.

Which is why I was going to go 33pg/66vg with 500ml of pg, 1l of vg.

So adding flavour if it was pg based wouldn't make that much of a difference to me, im not a precise liquid vaper by any means :p

So, would it in theory work then, just 33pg and 66vg base, + some nicotine in there, then keep adding drops of flavour until the flavour Is strong enough?

Cheers :)

I swear 12 midnight can not come quick enough. Paid 20th december to the following wage being tomorrow is far too long!.

Anywho as much as I love Spectrum vapings Rococo, I can't abide the lengthy 48-72 hours processing times plus the delivery times on top of that.

Time to bite the bullet and make my own seeing as I am pretty certain what the ingredients are.

So I am taking the plunge tomorrow after so many months of deliberating.

@IceShock - I looked at your list. These are the products I am going for. Different to what you have listed but at least an alternative and fairly recommended on the other forums I frequent.

VG: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/170888404720?var=470185675873

PG: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/370749387759?var=640061861426

Nic: http://www.vapeinc.com/products/diluted-liquid-nicotine

The nicotine has always been my sticking/worrying point. I always want the best bang for buck but to be honest I would pay far, far more for Nic to ensure its quality. With the POTV15 discount code and free delivery it does seem a bit of a bargain especially as I have read favourable reviews.

As for concentrates, I have seen loads of recommendations for chefsvapour but I am between them and justvape247 with the latter looking a little better for price.

Sweet, cheers pal. bookmarked it all :)

Next time I buy Eliquid, ill also get all this aswell, then next time my eliquid iv bought runs out, home brew will be ready :D

I can vouch for the Classikool VG and PG, been using it for a year and just ordered another combined 1.5L.

As for nic chris74's link is the best for price I have seen, I paid £15 posted for the same 100ml at 72mg.

Concentrates wise I have used alchemists cupboard, leisure liquids and chefsvapour. All were good services but chefsvapour pipped them all on delivery time and range.

Icyshock I think I misunderstood what you plan to do. Are you just going to mix the PG and VG then add the flavour and nicotine after? I thought you were going to mix the nicotine in at the start. Doing that would mean the nicotine level would change depending on the % of the liquid that is flavouring.

If you premixed the nicotine there would be more in the final mix if you used say 10% flavour than if you used 25%. To be totally honest it doesn't save much time doing it this way.

I'd suggest starting small, once you know what you like in a mix you can make hundreds of ml at a time.

I see others are with me about Classikool. Likely because so many vapers have been using them for years.

Haha, yeah you misunder stood.

What im going to do is, 500ml pg, 1000ml vg. which = 1.5L of 33.3% PG, 66.6% VG,

Then pour 10ml of it into empty bottles, add flavour, add nicotine in a pg base, so the end result might end up like 35pg, 65vg, which is what I vape anyway, + the flavour concentrate might be either vg or pg etc, but either way a few % of pg vg wont make much difference to me as long as its around that mark.

then let it brew for a bit, if its good, mix up some 50ml bottles, if I still like it, well iv got laying around about 30, 10ml bottles, 50x20ml bottles, 10x50ml bottles 5x100ml bottles to be exact, all been sterilised and washed out so they will be fine for mixing in.

happy days. :) 20p per 10ml in the end result if I like it.

Ice, I think your method is a bit off tbh.
Make a 10-20ml test batch in one go with all the stuff in it. If it's good, then make a bigger one.

You're needlessly overcomplicating it and throwing in guesswork, when all you have to do is use the app and mix a batch :)

Alright guys,

A question on cotton.

For 18 months, iv been using just general cotton pads used by my missus they are for well what ever a woman does with them, removing makeup and such.

It says on the bag, Johnson's Cotton Pads.

Im guessing, that's not good to be vaping using them right? or will no harm come to me :p
I know I know, im sub ohming a johnsons baby arse wiping pad, but meh, it works.
but Im looking to try new cotton just to see if its any different,

So any sugguestions on what cotton and where to buy?

cheers :)

Haha, yeah I know, I overcomplicate things, bit of a perfectionist, basically what im going to do is what you said, I just put it in my own words because im a bit of a thick-o like that.

instead of just saying, im going to use ejuicemeup which is what I do and going to do when mixing. I just explain the clocks ticking in my brain and tell a full story of whats happened, whats happening, and whats going to happen, or what I predict and ask opinion if my predictions are correct :D when infact, I have the actual answer right infront of me, ejuicemeup.

You know, I actually edited and extended this post 3 times.

again, talking more and more. I cant help it! haha my bad :p

Cotton wise, you should be using 100% organic (and plenty reckon you should still boil it), or better yet (mainly because it's easier to work with), Japanese cotton pads.

They're both cheap enough if you look around. I'm sure someone had a link for cheap Jap cotton in here recently. It's not expensive anyway tbh, just relatively to the other stuff it is.

Well you know, on the moors 1/5th of a mile away, in spring time or summer when ever it is, (never actually paid attention), there are millions of cotton plants.

You know what I will be doing when I next spot them don't you :p

That's the size difference. The iStick is so tiny, I can definitely deal with the size of the Smok coming from a full size Hana.

hmmm... I'm looking for something a tad bigger, I've already got a rdn40; I think this will be too simlair.. I think I wait for its bigger brother.

Its payday today... :D but I'm quite happy with what I'm using at the moment, istick 20w, egrib and rdna 40.. just would like something bigger for battery life.

My concerns with it are all to do with the mixed reviews. However it's a bit hard to see through them because many are for the M50 pre-65w upgrade.

They mostly complain about the battery being a pain to remove, which doesn't bother me at all because I'm looking at it as an istick/similar alternative and they don't have replaceable batteries, so it's more replacement in future than constant swapping I want, and lack of passthrough - that's fixed in the 65w version.

Twisted420 said he thinks it's down on power so we'll see about that. I haven't had a regulated over 30w before so I don't suppose I will be able to tell but it's a shame if true. I'll let you know what I think when it arrives if you like.

I would not touch the Smok boxes, reviews suggest the do not put out the power they claim, which is a shame as some of them do look cool, check out Vaping with twisted420 last smok review, was not a glowing result.

Right you need 100ml of no nic juice 50/50 pg/vg flavored at 15% capella custard and 3% dulche de leche.

100ml of flavoring would be awful, best bet is get someone to mix you up a bottle or buy from a site like 8bitvape. I would offer but I have switched to capella V2 and don't know how it'll mix with grants.

Thanks for the advice, I have sent you a trust message as I may need a little help to make sure I am about to order the correct stuff.

Thinking about what you said does make more sense than getting 100ml of a flavour, would be way to flavoursome to vape.
