Seen BF4 for myself. This is the total opposite from what I experienced.
You could see the smoothest game in motion and proclaim it was a stuttering mess if an AMD card was in the system.

Im only going by my own experience, and ive played a lot of bf4 and know almost every fix/tweak to get it running better, (and there are plenty). But, it did play a fair bit smoother, and the on screen performance graph had a lot less spiking than DX.
I played BF4 religiously when it was released, and as soon as they released Mantle the game became a lot smoother to play, it was very noticable and im not the only one who feels the same way.
Starswarm tech demo it is also noticable as well how much of an impact Mantle has, dont believe me? run it on DX and then Mantle on an AMD 290. If you cant see the different then i suggest PC gaming is not for you and maybe something simpler like My Little Pony on the DS Lite will be more up your street Lambchop
Show me where I said it was a stuttering mess ? I said I saw NO difference from BF4 running Mantle and DX. I also was shown when I didnt not know what API was being at the time either.
The point i was making is your eyes and attitude don't allow you to see anything good where AMD is concerned. Any how as SID said i am not going to encourage you any more.
But in reality it does nothing of the sort.
I've seen Mantle running now through a friend, same game then running DX. No visible difference, not a jot, nada.
If you do notice anything, enjoy your placebo.
Numbers speak for themselves.. The frame latency is much lower, if you really think they post some numbers and am sure one us will do same thing running Mantle..
Don't talk so much junk it's 100% fact mantle offers a much smoother gaming experience..
It's not just how it looks, it's actually more about how it feels, how it reacts to your inputs.
It's not an easy thing to describe, you just feel much more sure of it using Mantle because the responsiveness is almost telegraphic, and the motion fluidity gives you a feeling of gliding through it like a white hot knife through butter.
The figures i posted for hardline would be a good comparison base to mantle, albeit it would need to be done by someone running xfired 290's, as they are pretty close to 780 sli if memory serves me right

Well, sorry to burst your bubble, the 970 stomps on the 290 and regularly beats the 290x on numbers but that doesn't tell the whole story does it ?
I played with both Mantle and DX with an open mind. I wouldnt have bothered my arse doing it at all had I not been interested.
Am I only allowed to praise Mantle ?
Used to be a bigger difference in BF4 - some areas would take a dump on DX due to bottlenecks through the API but then nVidia hooked some DX functions at driver level replacing them with their own optimised version and generally there is much less in it - atleast on nVidia side, I've only seen the game running on mantle on AMD lately so not sure how their DX performance is with more recent drivers.
I have seen that said on the Forum, about FRAPS with this game.
I use MSI's OSD, Ultra with 4x MSAA and low Post AA @ 1080P i get between 85 and 120 FPS's in Dust Bowl
That's better than i expected going from BF4 DX
FX-9590 @ 4.8Ghz
290 @ 1100/1400
The performance is quite nice, i hope it stays that way.
