Is AMD Gaming Evolved bad or is my r290 tri-x bad?

been a while since i fitted mine but im sure there was a lead that connected the psu sata, might have just been the fans but cant remember off hand

You'd be surprised how many fell foul of this :)
I almost did that installing the CoolerMaster 120V yesterday :D

It's not so much the case of not knowing there's a plastic firm there, but more of the case of "only started out as checking if the pump would line up properly with the mount, and it was already touching the CPU without realising". So the grain size of thermal paste that was on the CPU ended up on the pump's plastic firm, and I had to remove the firm, and reapply the paste :D

Only reason I asked is well.....:o:D

My H80 was powered via Molex, I think the H80i is powered via Sata?

My H105 is powered via CPU fan header, double check yours to make sure you are powering the pump.

@tommybhoy - I'm not sure if I understand you, but pump is powered over usb cable, here is the image of cables that come with h80i:

aaa, yes you are right, I didn't remember correctly, I'm not near my PC now so i can't look. When i come home i'll check that

just had a check of mine and pump is 2196 and idle temp is 27c (it is a bit nippy in my room) I will fire up prime and see load temps

I've reinstalled OS and all drivers, still with h80i had very high cpu temp and pump started to produce really weird crackling sound. After that i removed h80i and i put Intel stock cooler. Temps were ok, around 50°C. Then i was updating system with gigabyte APP center. I clicked to update BIOS, I already had G1.Sniper Z87 F3 version of BIOS, and wanted to check if there is new one.
So i "re-update" with the same version again. After restart my CPU temps are 90°C again!! And i cant lower them!
Don't know what to do really, except another reinstall of whole system :(
