ISIS and Islamic militants - discussion

Anyone else think there should be a media ban on this group, to stop them giving them what they want?

It is too useful to monitor who is watching or uploading these videos,
any muslim looking at this kind of material is probably on a watch list right now

@setter, the more PC you are, the more likely you are to be outraged at any old nonsense :D

I can understand why people would ask that but they are using social media, as soon as you shut one account down, another will appear.

It is ultimately pointless.

Well this goes right into the heart of peoples 'freedoms' and 'rights'. Various governments are trying to pull the plug on the ISIS media machine however to do that you partially need to stop sites like twitter and facebook. Now they are protected by various laws, so you either repeal these laws or go in heavy handed and physically remove their servers then here would be an outcry from various groups and you have a whole new set of problems.

The only way to truely ban them from the internet is to phyically stop the internet.

No people should see this and history should remember it.

Pretty sure by media ban he meant the actual news programmes, websites and papers

So, in short. We are losing to a bunch of deluded men crazed by power using religion as an extreme front to their barbaric ways in the hopes to justify murder and power gain?

They are growing in size and we are still too scared to act?

Mostly because they are buried deep inside towns and cities with 100,000's of 'innocent' people. We can't kill them all without killing them

This is the difference between civilised and not so civilised world

If that was going in your home town I'm sure the public would rat them out.

Its very hard to help a group of people when they wont let themselves be helped.

Not just ISIS but the whole muslim extremists issue

See you say that but personally I'd have no idea. Although I'm friendly with most of my street for all I know they could be plotting the next 9/11 in their houses.

But when they start walking around with Ak's etc surely you wouldn't just ignore it.

And then when there are large numbers chucking people off roofs. I'd like to think my community wouldn't turn the other cheek.

It's obviously not as straight forward as that over there. But I'm sure it is like that over here.

Yeah ok that's fair enough. Sorry I obviously missed the point from your post lol :(.

However if you search 'ISIS fail' on YouTube looks like they're slowly sorting out the problem themselves :D.
