Upcoming games to support Mantle

The list was in no way official. Dying light won't get mantle least I very doubt it will.

It says Mantle support confirmed in the original post and it was posted by a vendor rep, if it's still incorrect it should probably have been removed or edited to avoid confusion.

Also thinking about it I don't think Matt was a vendor rep at the time.

Fair enough, maybe I should said being a Dice game and frostbite engine then you would think it will..
After all dice helped build mantle.

Yer, it could still feature Mantle and hopefully it will. Mirror's Edge 2 is not due out till 2017, so I guess that is why details are light on it.

That list is pretty bad mind, as only a tiny fraction is correct but it didn't come from AMD and was touted about on plenty of tech sites.

Do note this was before matt become a vendor rep.

At this moment in time, outwith Frostbite titles, I won't hold my breath for many(if any at all) more Mantle titles, perhaps the Sniper Elite bundle, who knows.

It was a fantastic preview of DX12 if you ask me though.

Just to show how long Microsoft have been working on DX12 (from nVidia, so PR in full swing of course).

Nvidia PR isn't any more relevant than AMD PR.;)

MS mvp's on the other hand stated on January 2013 that they were informed by MS that there will be no more DX, then MS scrambled about informing everyone that was no longer the case.

Not AMD/Nvidia, MS's programming partners, but it's moot, as it's coming regardless.

Need for speed: Rivals is on the Frostbite engine but no Mantle support and that was supposed to have it as well.

Can you post the link where it confirms Mantle support?

Don't think you can.

EA have the sales numbers for NFS R, probably didn't warrant any further programming effort.

Yeah it was before Matt was a vendor rep, they were never confirmed, and as many expected, turned out to be BS.

Like Tommy says and i have been saying, DX12 is coming, its too much of a heavyweight for any other API to even stand a chance against the behemoth Microsoft.

No one is going to invest time in any newer game coming to incorporate Mantle when DX12 will do the same thing and probably even more.

RIP Mantle you served us kinda well for a very short time.

The sad thing about Mantle is the game devs have not really pulled their weight as it is their responsibility to implement it correctly.

DX12 is almost with us now and I suspect the number of games that support it will very quickly pass the number of games supporting Mantle.

Thankyou game devs for being totally useless.:(

Have they recovered from going not-bankrupt yet?

They didn't go bankrupt :)

They moved from a very large organisation of Publisher / Game Developer / Engine Developer to a much more slimmed down and more focused Publisher / Engine Developer.

CryEngine 3, get's constant updates, 3 in the last Month alone, they are focusing on the continuation of developing what is in my humble opinion the best engine in existence, and a good job of it they do too :)

They are also much more involved in those using that engine to make games, at an individual to individual; one on one level.

CryTek are very much alive and kicking, what they do now they do to a very high standard, far better than they ever did. :)

To be fair, Mantle 'As good as it is' also needed more work, of course, it was never proclaimed to be a done thing, it does need mainly Engine Developer input and work, i don't know to what extent they or AMD pulled their weight or not.

But despite DX12, which is such a good thing, no argument, i do still want to see Mantle actively continuing to be developed and adopted by Engines.

It's much more than just the API that benefit's Gamers, it has a lot of potential for further technology and innovation development.

But it can only really happen if it's integrated into Engines, and integrated properly, i don't think FrostBite 3 is a good example of this.

I want to get my hands on Mantle, but not as a stand alone API, i want to see it in CryEngine.

I don't understand your stance with Crytek Humbug.

In 2007 they released one of the most iconic games with Crysis, since then it's basically fallen apart.

"Alive and kicking", in the same extent that Blackberry is "alive and kicking".
