How long would it take you to earn a top footballer’s salary?

A concept understood by even small children, so what is your point? I am arguing that such a demand should not exist in the first place. Top football is far too commercial and dull anyway.

The correlation between big name actors and box office receipts is much more obvious than that of big named footballers and competition success. But I am not going to defend actors salaries either.

Well my point would be that regardless of your dislike for football, the demand is there, something even a small child could see. ;-)

Point is mute! Why would you need that much money?

Most people have a great life at a fraction of the cost.

Its not about money or wealth, its about happiness and good health! ;)

He drives an Aston martin :) I think he can easily be in that territory! *awaits eyedot to come in with his f40 on the driveway*

540 years for me, on ronaldo..

2,724 MINUTES
On your current salary, it would take you 4 years to earn Cristiano Ronaldo's annual wage.

Poop..
Disadvantaged by the "last 12 months" element!

Do you poop gold? What is your secret? (What do you do)?

If you don't mind me asking :p

A very,very..very...very long time. :D

Seriously though,Why are footballers on so much money?..just for kicking a ball around a field?

Maybe because they're at the very top of the most popular sport in the world...

Get to the top of most professions and you start to earn the big bucks.

Reminds me of this:

I think the more prudent question is would you swap places with this guy if you had to take on his personality and intelligence level as well?

cos the ratio between what they do to earn and what they actually earn is bigger, at least in my opinion. it may take practice and fitness to do the job, but musicians sell their CDs and merchandise and "Creatively" write music. Then there's actors, who spend their lives studying human emotion and bringing entertainment to millions through a lot of self sacrafice some even lose out on massive amounts of family time to keep up with filming schedules. Also and whether this is true or not, and I am sure for some of them it isn't, a lot of footballers are just plain stupid.

That is a load of rubbish. There aren't many actors who convey such emotions, and the highest paid actors do nothing but play the same character in a series of films, see Robert Downey Jr. You citing 'musicians' as doing anything creative is quite amusing as anything performed by Taylor Swift or Katy Perry could been written up in an afternoon by a child.

Fact is these people are paid obscene amounts because they have draw. Rooney and Ronaldo sells millions of season tickets for their clubs and are thus a good investment. Same goes for people who just watch the films because of a high-profile actor or buy the albums of the aforementioned 'musicians'.

Get writing then. You couldn't do it. For reference a large amount of 1989 was co-written by this guy:

You might not personally like it, but in terms of chart performance the numbers speak for themselves.
