Warning daffodils are flowers and not food

Can someone update me on Tulips please. I have some here and want to know ASAP before i eat them ?

And you've made my day :D.

I assume that everyone has realised the article refers to daffodil bulbs?

Still a stupid mistake to make, but they do look quite similar to onions.

It doesn't refer only to bulbs...

Unfortunately there are rare occasions when the bulbs are mistaken for onions, and the stems or leaves are mistaken for a type of vegetable popular in China.

:p

Response from Mrs Cosimo on seeing this on the news, "Christ, this country is full of thick people"...

This thread has made me peckish but I can't be bothered to go foraging for flowers, as the nearest cemetary is too far away.

Just how, they don't look the same, then theirs labelling.

What a sad state of affairs. If you don't know what an onion looks like, why the hell are you buying them for, as you clearly don't cook with them.

Or is this one stupid person and media have made it out to be a bigger issue

Working for a supermarket 17 years ago on fruit and veg, people would buy things on offer and then return to find out how to cook/prepare it (celeriac, artichoke, how many on here would know what to do with these?). This is just more of the same.
