ISIS and Islamic militants - discussion

You really think I can't back all that up ? I'll post it tonight, facts are facts even if it doesn't suit your facist multiculturalist agenda.

Eagerly awaiting for you to prove that we were ever in a position of "What is a muslim?" within your life time given we have had Muslim residents in the UK for hundreds, if not thousands, of years.

Doing nothing is not an option. The death cult of ISIS would like an apocalyptic war, but they can be beaten by a lot less than that.

It's still an option. Note that I was making the point that we have an infinitely variable spectrum of choice on how to proceed. "Do nothing (and, implicitly, let others do it/acquiesce to the consequences)" was chosen as one such example that is at one extreme of that spectrum.

Before we can hope proceed, we need to accept the scope of the problem that Britain faces.

We have a faith-based community that includes people who are ideologically incompatible with the laws and freedoms of our 21st century secular democracy.

It's no more an option than letting ISIS raise the black flag over Downing Street and Buckingham Palace is an option. We have voted for military action against ISIS in parliament and our options now should be how much more we contribute to the operation.

Hunting them and killing them is the only option. No negotiation, no deal, just relentless killing and degrading their equipment and infrastructure.

But it is an option ;) You need to read that post again.

Or provide support to the forces that are local to them. Much safer for us, the UK, to stay out of yet another un-winnable war thousands of miles from home, thanks.

totally agreed, everyone knows that IS would get steamrolled by any modern well trained army - but then it'd just turn into decades of suicide bombs, IEDs and kidnappings.. screw getting involved with that again,

It is not an option. Parliament specifically voted on military intervention and it was passed making doing nothing not an option.

ISIS would attack the UK if they were providing support or airstrikes or ground troops. Your way just drags out the conflict even longer.

So it was an option. If it wasn't an option - what were they voting on? Also, they can always call another vote to pull out. You really, really aren't comprehending this, are you? We have options. We can, as you say, decide to hoist the black flag ourselves. It's an option. Options, options, options a plenty!

Ja, just like our decisive intervention with Iraq ended things quickly, eh?

Hang on... that was what started this IS mess!

the last two are referring to quotes from David Cameron and the arch bishop of Canterbury.

and are fairly accurate.

the rest you'd have to Google for the stats.

the unrecognizable as British is subjective but it is fairly common knowledge that immigrant communities group together and have done for a very long time, it seems odd you'd pick that.

whop then start to take over and gain power and become another group just like ISIS so we pick another local group to support and on and on it goes just like it has before.
Exactly.

I've already heard reports of the peshmerga doing their own beheadings of people they suspect are ISIS. Better to stay right out of that cluster**** of a place until it grows up.
