I mean, with those stats - there's no reason why you would ever fly or need any other ship in the entire game, specifically around it's handling - for something that can deliver that amount of DPS and be so fast/manoeuvrable,

While I do agree that it needed balancing, they have now nerfed it too much. You might as well now get a Clipper or stay with a Type 7 then go to a Type 9.

There is no need for a Python the way the ship is now in 1.1

The clipper is also an awesome ship (one of my faves) I think the Python should have been in-line with it from day 1, but more combat oriented, (but not with solid granite shields)

The manoeuvrability of the thing was it's most deadly aspect imo, along with it's speed, when I had an A rated Python a month or two ago, it could hit 380/ms which meant I could keep up with fast ships and also mass-lock them, so nothing could ever escape - at least with the Anaconda you can outrun it.

I can see why people are upset, but my honest opinion is that it's basically being fixed lol - a bit like trading, which has also upset the same amount of people, but stations should not have unlimited supplies of performance enhancers, and a trader outside the front door buying them for 1500cr per ton profit :D
 
I think that the python will become the large 'general purpose' ship.

Large general - python

Medium hauler - type6
Medium fighter - Fer de Lance ?
Medium gernal - Asp

Small - hauler - Hauler

you're missing the type-9 ;)

I must admit, that Corvette looks sexy as frigging hell in the pics... I think it's gonna cost about 300Mcr - which I can afford, but no doubt doubt it'll run to 500-600Mcr to actually upgrade... which I can't afford, and since they've nukedfixed the trading, it'll be a serious grind to make much now,

Also apparently it's a federation ship requiring a rank, so I might start doing the federation rankings.. I did half of the empire ones, and it's a bit of a grind - so I wouldn't mind getting some of them out of the way.

Bearing in mind the dropship required ensign or higher, I imagine the corvette will also be much higher..
 
Yep - Since I have the Python (and need another 20 mill to get max shields/thrusters) planning finishing Empire/Fed rep + shoot things for a while :D

If ever get close to rebuy cost, do some trading >.>

apparently lave/leetsi and a few other places now have a permanant hacker/griefer who's killing everybody inside the stations with dumbfire missiles, tempted to go over in a sidewinder and see if it's as bad as everyone is making out,

The type 9 is the heavy hauler and the the Vulture will be the dedicated Large fighter.

Talk on the forums of people blockading George lucas station, apparently an A-rated Anaconda is also taking part in the blockade, although i've just spent 30 mins thrashing around in a Viper load with torps - no sign of any blockade, just plenty of cmdrs coming and going,

Also agree to some extent, it does make things more interesting,

Seems im fair poor at combat and so it appears im currently stuck hauling to make any decent money, then bounty hunting when that gets boring... Hopefully new content, more varied missions and more rewarding exploration will give me more purpose.

Trying to bounty hunt as a form of income in a Python or Conda must be doing it wrong. Your repair/insurance bills must be prohibitive.
I would think a Viper to be more cost effective, although you have to pick your targets with more care. If I bounty hunt in my Python its only to get my combat rating up, and it would be bankrolled by trading. After tomorrows update though you may well look to trade in the Python.. I hope I can still live with mine though.

edit, nm.. Python may be saved "- Tweaks to Python: it now has a higher max speed and improved boost speeds (to catch those pesky haulers). Also a minor improvement to it's pitch to keep it well above the Anaconda"

also - you can now see everyone's rank,

in other lolz, I hung around the station where all the griefing was taking place earlier, a player was griefing people whilst docking with dumb-fire missiles, but because of the patch this happened;


He got creamed by the station - whereas before there was some sort of exploit that was allowing people to sit inside and kill/grief cmdrs with missiles, without being killed by the station
