So some workmen have turned up this morning and dug a hole (3x3 feet approx) less than 3 feet away from the front door.
They've left this hole surrounded by barriers and upon contacting the council, they do not intend to finish work until the 16th (which amounts to wiring up a street light, which surely is a days work at best, not a week).
Is there no law to invoke here to get this resolved, or do they really expect people to put up with having to step sideways off their doorstep while they waste money dragging out such a job? Are they within their rights to leave a hole so close to someone's front door?!
