XBox 360 Pad, XBox One Pad or PS3/4 pad?

ps4 pads should be native by now?

I'm pretty sure they are. There are a few videos of them being used on w8.1. When I was tempted by a ps4 at the same time I wanted to buy a gamepad I was thinking about getting the ps4 controller as I could have used it with the ps4 when I got it.

However, I decided against the ps4, so bought an xbox360 wired gamepad - plugged in, recognised it immediately on w8.1 and it has worked in every game I tried it on (only racing however)

Also the cable is a good length!

I'd uninstall, pull the receiver then plug it into another port.

Installing on 8.1 you just choose to install the driver from a list of devices (from the unknown device in device manager) and choose the one half way down the list.

It's something like Microsoft xbox 360...wireless receiver etc.

The place you pick is totally different from Windows 7 (W7 driver is bottom of the category list). I have two, one on Windows 7 and one on Windows 8.

It will work if it works in Windows 7. I had the same trouble but the other way round.

Done exactly this method. Still pads won't sync with receiver. I have two identical ones and both won't work on 8.1. Fine on win 7. I give up. Use an official one ;-)

Strange. Having watched that video, I'm pretty sure that's how I ended up doing it on 8.1 with my £5 receiver (my previous suggestion of the Windows 7 driver was based on finding it still in my downloads folder - I think I tried that way first).

Have you got an official one working on 8.1? I'd have thought the process would be the same as for the cheapo units.

Ordered a xbone pad to see what its like. Theres a good deal knocking about if you look on Hotukdeals.

Just hope the connector doesn't end up getting loose with it using a micro usb as they look a bit flimsy.

Just need a 3m micro usb lead now, is it worth paying a bit more for one or just get a cheapo £2 one from ebay?

Official receiver works immediately after you plug in Pc on win 8.1. No drivers needed and it just works like always. Unofficial one well I dunno (lost for word's)

get the play and charge kit if you get the wireless 360 so you can recharge.

Or just use cheap rechargeable batteries. Lasted for days when I used to use the 360 pad.

Since moved onto an Xbone pad since the 360's were getting worn (not surprising since I'd been using them for over eight years!).
