Hey

I'm getting some bits for the Car, and I found some Febi parts for a nice price from the rainforest with prime delivery.

What's the View on Febi parts?, I understand they are a part of Bilstien?

Yes.

Transmisison Oil was fine. Filters also fine.

Suspension parts were just fine. Ball joints and arms.

Electrical sensors have also been fine.

I have no problem ordering from them and see them up there with the likes of Mahle etc.

Yep, decent quality after-market parts. I've used plenty of their parts before and never had any issues.

Pays to read past 2nd post.

Well this contradicts everything I've been told by "mechanics".

Hmmmmm.

I use Lemforder a lot, never let me down so far.

Mechanics will tell you whatever they want as long as they can supply and mark up ok.

This is the negative side of forums, anyone can post whatever they like.

Febi Bilstein make decent parts. Lots of stuff is made in China these days, it isn't unusual. Even some of the bits that go into making a Rolls Royce jet engine are produced in China.

I dont think febi are OE quality and definitely not on par with lemforder.

I am not saying they are bad parts but they are not the same as trw or lemforder.

There is a reason they are half the price of the above.

I worked at an independent Mercedes specialist and we used Febi a lot and never had any problem with their parts.Never even had to return something under warranty as I remember either.

Others are OEM suppliers meaning that they can't drop the price so far down without hampering their prices that they have fixed with the manufacturers, otherwise they will get suspicious. Aka they supply to BMW for £50 yet compete with Febi on ECP for £20.

Febi IIRC have no OEM contracts, therefore they can stick their margin on it and get it out without issues.
