1) Am I right in saying that Hyperspace is for moving between systems whereas Supercruise is for getting around inside systems quickly? If so, I noticed while Supercruising to a station that my speed kept increasing but seemingly started decreasing on it's own without any input from me? Why would it do this?

I believe this is due to the effect of stellar bodies / mass in your vicinity effecting your frame drive's ability to "fold" space, hence slower travel.

2) What is the best method to drop out of Supercruise as near (but safely) to your destination? (I seem to be unable to slow down sufficiently when the "Slow Down" warning pops up and always end up going past!)

Alternatively lock onto the destination and supercruise to it at 100% throttle. Once your target destination time in your HUD counts down to 7 seconds reduce throttle to 75% and you can keep the destination ahead of you and you will auto-throttle to a safe speed and distance to drop out of supercruise at your required site. (You can wait until 6 seconds tbh if you fancy saving a bit of time).

Your third question.... not a clue ;)

Yup, correct on how I found the post. Though I was looking for one of me holding Yembo station hostage. Guess I didnt kill enough traders by the station. I actually stumbled on this one by accident
People like this just makes me glad there is a solo/group mode! what an ego he must have to even google his username just to be able to gloat must be trying to compensate for something I guess.

The legendary goosenuts graces us with his presence. We are honoured.

(I've never heard of goosenuts.)
I'm trying very hard to resist the temptation to put a massive bounty on him or make the major factions hate him. Responsibility and all that :(

Haha, he's not worth the butt ache dude. Sadly, he's playing 'by the rules' - it's a misuse of them agreed, but the way things are currently set up enables this kind of behaviour sadly. I'm sure you guys will come up with some way of combating it. I suppose the most basic way would be to just have weapons unable to deploy when you fly through the slot.

Yeah,

"oh look i'm just playing a legit badguy, everything I'm doing is fine, stop crying"

*disconnects from game whilst being melted down in PVP*

3) I did my very first mission last night on solo play - navigated to a specific system to gather some data and return it to the station - managed to do this, came back, docked and went to the bulletin board and while the comment suggested that I'd been successful, the "drop cargo" (or whatever) button was red and it wouldn't let me complete and collect the credits!?!?! - Any idea why? (there was mention of the mission being "considered illegal" but I don't seem to have been given a wanted level etc!?!?)

Thanks for any pointers....

Have a look in the Transactions tab of the left hand screen, it will tell you the current state of that mission - so you'll be able to see if you have the right number of goods to deliver, where you need to deliver them to, and the time left to do it in.

I just watched a couple of his vids and he took out a Hauler with ease. Skillz to be proud of.....

ROFL

yeah I saw that too, I also love how these people complain that there just playing the bad guy, and how they fill a part of the game that's required (which I agree with) but when he meets a few angry people looking for revenge - he disconnects when he starts taking damage.

Meanwhile he's sat in stations blowing people up with impunity..

It needs fixing so badly..

lol props for posting here...I'm guessing you googled your own name looking for people you have wound up? You know, watching that video, I agree, I should have taken more care playing in open especially around such busy space. Luckily I can afford the loss so no real harm done.

I would disagree about combat logging...That would have been done the moment my shields went down. I was obviously dead when my thrusters hit 0%. More of a rage quit (though done via the game menu while you left me spinning) and not giving you the satisfaction of seeing me self-destruct. Poor form, maybe, but not to my benefit.

This is what combat logging looks like to me...

Goosenuts, How did your hull stay at 51% through the last couple of minutes of that ass whooping? or did you're ship stay in game but impervious to damage for a while when you logged out?

I believe that when you combat log, because the connection has been terminated information relating to damage doesn't come back to your client - it basically stays at the last known value until the connection times out (5-10 secs or whatever)

People are able to generate this effect without logging off, by DDOSING their opponent with network traffic - so network packets containing information relating to hits/damage simply don't get through,

I'd donate money just to help you encourage it. By all means go for it.

But how will you pay the bounty? I've tried donating cargo before from a T7. It takes way too long.

Hope your all enjoying the videos in the meantime. There are many more to come. :)

I've been using a hauler to run trade, and i can take about 22T of cargo, i found a couple of routes which make some money, i currently have 300,000 in the bank, just thinking what is the next logical step up in terms of ships

I went from the Sidewinder to the Hauler and then to the Cobra Mark III. Its a great ship. Good jump range. Good cargo capacity. And decent at combat.
