it is quiet without disc, but has soon as disc is inserted, the drive is loud and fan seems to kick in..
i have to have tv volume low because our walls are wafer thin and daughter is a light sleeper. but even so my kettle make less noise...
well its going back tomorrow, ill get a refund and get a 3ds/3ds xl i think.
 
That video you have embedded doesn't seem to work for me.

My Wii U does the same thing, so I was wondering if you could please link me to the video so that I can compare.

Got the Game & Watch from there last year and have got a fair few points built up again. Quite fancy a Power-Up pouch for my new 3ds but I don't want to spend my points in case they add a load of new, better stuff.
 
Ive just sold my wiiU (Boo!!)
Zombi U is by far the best game I have played in along time, but nothing else takes my fancy really.
MK8 was ok, 3d world was very good, windwalker I have completed before on the gamecube. Ideally I would have liked a supermario 64 type game (the best game ever IMO) but I see nothing on the horizon.
Back to the PS4 I guess :(

ZombiU was amazing, great launch title.

Due to the extremely complex nature of localising multiple television services across a diverse range of countries with varied licensing systems, regrettably we have taken the decision not to launch the Nintendo TVii service within the European region. Although on this occasion we did not anticipate such challenges, we will always strive to develop a range of entertaining experiences for all our users to enjoy.


With this in mind, Nintendo of Europe has launched the Nintendo Anime Channel, a new video-on-demand service on Nintendo 3DS which offers users the chance to stream anime series from the likes of Pokémon, Kirby, and Inazuma Eleven. New content will be added regularly and access to this service is granted simply by downloading a free application from Nintendo eShop.

Yeah, tbh this had totally slipped my mind. Probably a lesson learned for Nintendo: some things are harder to implement than they initially realised. Probably that and Xbox One does it better.
 
Quick question guys
I returned my wiiu due to it being loud
Now if i was to buy another one and place it in a cupboard under the stairs and then sit about 1m away from that cupboard would the gamepad still pick up the console or does it have to be in line of sight?

The noise the ps4 disc drive makes when installing a game? Well it was louder than that!

Think the problem was the fans were kicking in at the same time as the disc drive was reading a disc
Without a disc in, the fans would go off and it was silent... But as soon as a game was inserted into the wii u, its the loudest item (tech wise) i have ever owned!

It doesn't need line of sight but brick walls can muck up the signal. If it's just plasterboard it'll be fine I'm sure.

Mine makes very little noise, maybe you got a duff one?

It will only only be a cupboard door, so thats not too bad
My brother got one today, said it is noisy as well when playing a game from disc
 
You don't need to pay over the odds for digital - find cdkey retailers for digital versions often cheaper than physical.

Simples.
