Does owning a top end pc change you as a person?

the older you get the quicker it settles down imo,
then comes the time when it settles down so quick you wished you'd kept the money lol

Yea' I wish I hadn't spent £576 on a graphics card when the only game I play would run on the graphics card I bought 10 years ago.

When I got my Devils Canyon setup I walked around with a purple fur coat, blue suit, feathered hat, brown suede shoes and a cane with massive diamond rock on the top.

Women would tremble with overwhelming passion in my presence and men would cower knowing they would never be as awesome as me. Every where I'd go I'd get the best seat in the house, the finest food and drink brought to me by the hottest chick in the joint. Clubs would stay open until I left and I'd always get front door parking.

The jewels hanging from my neck would refract the suns light into on lookers faces so all they could make out was a silhouette of this bid daddy man. I felt unstoppable and invincible. The post man wouldn't post my bills knowing I'm too fly to pay my bills, the fridge would stay cold even with the door open down to my awesomeness, the pop corn bag would pop in my hand as I was just so hawt! Times were good, in fact it was the best time of my life.

When I boot any work computer I just think to myself. The beast at home could have booted 3 times by now. At this point the work PC is nowhere near the login prompt.

I guess it does give me a little buzz. SSD FTW.

owning a high end pc makes you want to use it yes. But that's the same as any new toy / be it a phone / pc / car whatever.

I think people should be identified according to what spec PC they have. I was thinking of something like making everyone wear a symbol... perhaps a star. The more "top end" your PC, the different colour the star. People with old PCs shouldn't be allowed certain jobs, or allowed to go to the cinema or restaurants. They should be forced to hang around with their own kind. Basically, some way to show that people with a "top end" PC are clearly the superior race.

Who else is on board?

Sounds perfect. Like a yellow star they would sew onto their jackets. And then we could make them all live in camps.

Or maybe something like your pcmark score tattooed on your wrist.

You have ascended to the higher echelons of the PC master race, let all those who stand before you know your power!

When I had a watercooled PC I paid no regard to the peasants I met on the street, they were like mere bacterium, I image the same as those with Vapochill coolers regarded me.

The value of your PC is inversely proportional to how good looking your wife / girlfriend is.

At around £500 though the 'wife / girlfriend' is replaced with different grades of toilet tissue.

I maybe felt a bit like this when I got a new Lego set back when I was 10, but as an adult??? You need to seriously look at your priorities in life.

I think you have made it. I have now announced your success to the public. You may now command any of us, peasants as you please.

Ok now you can wake up, new toy syndrome. It will wear off eventually :)

You haven't changed, it's the people around you who can sense your l33t Ghz and can't handle the awesomeness of it.
