Vapemail!

Airek RDA, a spare kayfun drip tip cause I like the feel of em, and a replacement centre post for the kayfun v4.

the airek rda, Jesus Christ is it good!! not even had a vape on it yet, but the air flow, damn its perfect, even with a 510 drip tip (chuff caps not arrived from slow tech yet), even with the 510 drip tip chuffing hell theres some air and a half :D

Excited to build it up, but I gotta wait a few hours, lots to do :(

I also put the kayfun v4 back together and meh, probably wont even bother building on it, so restrictive.

Hi
I would like to upgrade my Protank 2, 2.2 ohms with EVOD batteries to something else. I was thinking of purchasing the new Kanger subtank, possibly the mini or nano but I am unsure on which battery mod to get.
I would prefer long battery type mod but can be persuaded to buy a box mod if necessary.
I would like it to look nice too.

Please advise.

I like Mrs Lords CC, it is a nice custard and biscuit. As with most custards, it needs another week at least in the steeper imo. :)

Try it when you get it, then put it away for a week or two, longer if you can. ;)

Wasn't a fan of Mr's Lords, didn't taste right to me.

Going to order some Spectrum Custard on Friday.

Thanks for the feedback guys - it was purely on impulse I went for the 50ml bottle. Normally I do buy small bottles of new juice.

Steeping shouldn't be an issue, as I can put it away while I crack on with my 100% vg GVC, which has been set aside for a couple of weeks (with the occasional taste, for QC purposes!)

What I could really do with is some Blue Monster Energy flavour. I've addicted to drinking the stuff, just because I love the taste, and vaping it would be a lot cheaper!

Anybody else concerned about the EU TPD due to come in to force next year?

Yep, it's ridiculous, hoping common sense will prevail though but if not, I'll be stocking up before it comes into force.

The Subtank mini is great - I'd read that people had leaking issues with the original full size Subtank so I went for the mini and it's fantastic. Having said that, the Atlantis is also great and you also have the option of buying a 'hollowed out sleeve' for it, so the glass isn't exposed. Not really necessary though if you're careful and it has a smaller capacity.

For the battery, I think you get more bang for your buck with a box mod, and they're just a more convenient size and shape really, plus I know very little about current tube mods. :p If you want something that has removable batteries so you can just put a fresh one in when it runs out, my vote goes to the Sigelei 30W mini, I'm very happy with mine but that does mean you'll have to buy some batteries and a charger. It does actually have a USB charging port but that doesn't take advantage of the flexibility of having removable batteries imo. 30W is easily enough to power the Subtank, I find 25W to be the best for it.

If you want something with a built in battery, the iStick 50W is probably the one to go for. I don't have one so can't say too much about it, but it's worth bearing in mind it takes 5 hours to fully charge. It can be used while charging though and a full charge should last a very long time, and by all accounts it's a very nice device.

Sexy! :D

Just found some time to build up my airek.

DAMN this thing is good! id say its better than the mutation x v2, but also worse in some days.

First of all, the bottom O ring that holds the outter barrel in place, I had to change that as it was so loose you couldn't adjust the air flow top cap section without the outter barrel twisting nor could you take the top cap off to drip (I always take the top cap off instead of dripping through drip tip etc).
So I replaced the o-ring with a thicker one, that's sorted now.
secondly the connection screws are pretty damn poor, theres gaps either side of the screws where the wire goes through the posts, they are pretty poor you have to really really tighten them down for them to hold the wire in place, also they should have gone for a 4 post design I think its easier for dual coiling with thick wire.

Apart from that, the air flow is mahooosive, so many air flow options aswell which is fantastic.
Vapor production is more than the mutation X v2/v3, and also its a cooler vape when wide open, the mutation x cant go as wide open so its a lot warmer even when its wide open.

Its great though love it, I think ill be picking up the airek more than I will the mutation x now. and it looks great aswell!

Also, there wasn't any machine oil at all though I give it a quick rinse anyway, and the finish and machining quality is great.

I think id say the flavour is actually better than the mutation X aswell well, it is quite a bit better actually.

<snip again>

Sounds good! Nice looking build. :) I guess it's just cheaper with a 3 post design, hope it's not too tricky.

I went a little bit crazy on fasttech and have ordered an Airek clone, Yep RDA (listed as Mutation X V4 for some reason), CLT V2 clone, Veritas clone, Aeolus clone, Vertex V2 clone, Aqua V2 clone, Kayfun V4 clone by Infinite, Nemesis mod clone, loads of wire and cotton and 21 drip tips. :o

Holey crap hahahaha!

Well iv got a 2nd mutation x v2 on the way as I was going to use 1 for my mech mod and one for my 100w sigelei rather than swapping about and stuff, and I could even use one for different liquids etc as it was my favourite.

But now so far I gotta say my favourite is the airek, but you never know after a few days of use I might find faults or prefer the mutation x, but I cant see that happening its so good!

iv got a vertex 2 on the way aswell, should be here same time as my spare mutation x 2, yeah kayfun v4, well Iv got a few tanks now, my favourite is the orchid by far, the kayfuns are way too air restricted id gotta say ill probably never ever use them again lol, iv no use for them I like dripping too much.

A little package from Japan arrived this morning...

I've been rebuilding the Subtank OCC heads lately as it's pretty simple after you do a couple. Gives better airflow/tank capacity over the RBA base.

Nice find. Jeez, not I have to figure out what kind of resistances those wires pump out.
Lol, I know tell me about it, I have no idea tbh, twisted coils nerver really appealed to me... until someone else did the twisting .:D

Best wicking material ever. ;)

Get the subtank mini or nano, the standard is like holding a hand grenade, but useful if someone starts a fight down the pub ;)

I am running a smok Xpro M65 on mine, great value from AFM, but the new M80 is out now so deffo worth a look with temperature control and built in 4400 battery.

I am using the Samsung 25R IMR batteries good for 25 amp draw and £12.99 a pair delivered from the bay of E. I am getting 2 days vaping out of a full charge and carry a 1 amp emergency phone charger in case of emergencies

Yeah I'm thinking of picking up a mini for out and about. I'm also searching for replacement rubber grommets for OCC rebuilds as I can see these wearing over time.

The coils are pretty reasonable, so I would rebuild till the grommet fails and then replace tbh.

Got me some of that there Vape Mail today. Quite pleased.

Good stuff. :)

Anyone seen the replacement o-rings for sale actually in stock anywhere foe the Mini?

For peeps who make their own coils, I bring you http://www.steam-engine.org/coil.asp?r=1.4

Measure twice and cut once etc :)

In the OP, along with some other handy links. :)

I've used that site for a long time, though for convenience (saving builds etc) I usually use the Microcoil Pro app. :)

I should get some vapemail in a few days...

Yeah found it hidden in the old links, still needs triphammer juices adding to it.

If you haven't tried Fizzy Trifle, Key Lime Pie and Fruit Pastilles you have missed out big time :)
