Wow, I have a 35.6 LY jump range (36.2 LY on an empty fuel tank) and I still can't reach La Superba or some of these other yellow giant stars at the edge of space.

I could probably eke out a couple more LY range if I dropped my shields and downgraded my thrusters to absolute trash, but even then I'm not sure if they'd be in range... :(

Cheers guys. Didn't even know you could do that.

Route plotted :)

Also, if you get distracted and click on other things to target, and you forgot where the next jump was, as long as you haven't changed your destination, the next system to jump to will have a little icon against it in the Navigation menu.

Paid off my 150cr fine in Fujin with a minute to spare. Nothing like cutting it close! :D

The nice thing about this Asp is that I can make the journey in not too many jumps (<10, definitely) and do it all on one tank of fuel. Rebuy is half a million though, so I get nervous every time I jump into a system and see a radar full of other commanders! :p

Make sure you also fly away from the star/sun before engaging your FSD. Make sure you ship heat is around the 50% mark before even starting anything if you still having overheating problems.

Tbh, I think my problem was using it too quickly. On my way to Fujin, I was stopping off and doing missions to build cash up without really giving it chance too cool to a decent level. I've now realised that I need to wait for it to get down to 50% before engaging the FSD.

Also getting completely away from stars and mass like you guys have advised.

Just pulled the trigger on this!

Very much looking forward to getting stuck in, unfortunately I'll need to wait till I build my new pc early next week.

Quite a few have mentioned Interdiction frequency, it seems only to be a bit more common for me since 1.1. However, NPC behaviour does seem more aggressive / suicidal and often doesn’t make a lot sense. I always submit as a few more bounty credits never hurt :p. NPC’s just open fire, but the odd thing is I often don’t have any cargo and I don’t have a wanted status (I spend most of my time bounty hunting). You’d think the AI would leg it instead of starting a fight it couldn’t win or even benefit from? Odd

Decided to check out the Resource Extraction Site at Leesti yesterday. Probably the most fun I’ve had in the game. All the targets seem to be around 20k, but they’re in constant supply. Almost decided to abandon my rares run and stick around there instead :)

On another point, is it me or are anarchy systems not as anarchic as they might be? Took a break from trading rares to sit at a nav point in an anarchy system, expecting to be attacked fairly aggressively by pirates etc. Got there, nada... zip. Got a few bounties but the place was pretty damn quiet to be honest. I was expecting it a little more like the original Elite where you couldn't break wind in an anarchy system without someone attacking you.

Agreed. I was a bit underwhelmed by how tame Anarchy systems appear to be. Hopped over to Reidquat, not much going on at the Nav beacon, only a few low value targets.

Must have made a couple million today nearly. Nice change from struggling to make just a few tens of thousands.

Will use the route a bit more tomorrow to get my cobra kitted nicely, then will be off picking fights I think.

Plus, the stress of flying around without shields or weapons is starting to get to me :)

Or I might just do some work on my reputation within federation. Will be easier when I'm not too worried about making money to get better ship and upgrades for it.

Hell, could even start doing a little exploring!

I give up with this game. It's just happened again. I'd just refueled and took off. Engaged the FSD at 50% temp, dropped out of hyperspace and my ship has overheated again and has taken irreversible damage. Temp is stuck at 80% and I can't do anything about it.

If I have to SD again, I'm quitting Elite because this is getting downright ******* ridiculous.

Its not elite, you have upgraded your ship badly. Try switching off unessential modules, until you can rectify the situation.

User error i think, sorry for the bad news.

I just don't get it. It was a 3ly jump from the station I'd stopped at and the second I dropped out, it went daft and started smoking. I turned away from the star to put some distance between me and it but the damage was done. I'm just floating now with my temp stuck at 80% and everything turned off except life support and power plant.

Always let the temps settle before jump, never boost and jump (unless you have upgraded) after jump set throttle to 0 when out of hyperspace avoid the sun as you pop out dive down or up then add some throttle away, watch the temp, let it settle and boost away.

That's what I've been doing. Seems to just want to do it's own thing though.

Another thing I've noticed is that if I'm approaching a station and it's counting down and I pull back on the throttle to slow down, whilst the icon shows the needle indicator moving back on screen, the actual speed just goes up meaning I constantly overshoot. I have no control over it..?

I haven't the foggiest idea what's going on..

your too close and caught in the mavity field so you will overshoot, simple slowdown earlier.

without you posting screenshots of your modules, F10 when viewing right panel, modules, cannot find out whats up with you heat.

I keep getting this message when I try to get into SC. Align with escape vector?

I'm in the middle of space with 80% temps. What escape vector?

There's a white dwarf which is miles away from me and I honestly cannot see why that would be a problem when I've jumped umpteen times since the last issue and turned away from stars to cool down.

the white dot on you compass your compass.

white dwarf stars are very dense and uber hot, they should be avoided.

good tip is to to zero throttle immediately after exiting hyperspace, easy with a HOTAS since you can do it after you engage, that way when you exit you can easy maneuver to avoid these beasties.

Finally ******* SUSSED IT.

It's a bug. I've just hunted all over the frontiers boards. Apparently it can happen when you drop out of FSD. Your target gets lost and you have to find an escape vector. The only reason I found it was because I saw another blue dot pop up on my scanner that wasn't the target I was aiming at. So I went for broke and turned my ship towards that and there it was - a blue escape vector.

My temps were 200% when I became freed of the restriction and I thought I was going to blow. I'm back to normal again now and in supercruise.

Honestly, this game is so frustrating at times...
