Quick question - do your shields help protect you against heat damage from a star or is it just against enemy fire?

I'm thinking of ditching them on my Cobra to make more storage space and help with jump distance but I do fuel scoop so don't want to make that a longer job if I can help it!

I don't believe they do help with heat damage.

It's such a massive fail when people do that..

Did you report him via the in-game report function? (I only ask, cause the devs were telling everyone to report loggers)
 
Currently trying to hunt down blockading players. Less of them in the system tonight, more of us vigilantes. But the instances in this game are awful. There were a group of us hunting down a Clipper who keeps getting away. Now after jumping into SC, I'm stuck in another instance with only two other visible, different players. Frontier pls. :(

Yep very I reckon it takes about 5-6,000,000 cr to fully upgrade a Cobra then allow another 200,000-300,000cr for insurance alone & another 8,000cr for fuel per full tank :eek: gets way more expensive for repairs as well I shudder to think how much it cost Gregster on his ship :eek:

You should be okay against Cobras as long as other ships are already engaging, they're not another player, and you stay behind them. If you can afford it, grab a chaff launcher for your Sidewinder. NPCs love their gimballed weapons, and chaff will disrupt their ability to target you for a short while. Be opportunistic and never try to take them head-on.

Once this business in BD+03 2338 is over, I'd happily come bounty hunt with you for a while, if you're still at it by that point. Might help make things easier until you can start trading. :)

A couple of % damage is 200K+ and 20% damage is about 1.2M ouchy
 
Spent a good hour and a half doing some exploring, man this line of work is tough!

Managed to get around 60ly away from my home of Eravate before I turned tail, after some failed scoops, my hull was down to 38%.

Wanted to see what I got for my exploration and managed to get around 19k credits.

Pretty chuffed, but it's a long journey for not that much.

Few hairy moments on the journey home when I got intercepted a few times, but managed to escape, was not willing to let all my time go to waste.

I think I'll go deeper after I upgrade my ship, maybe go twice as far!
