Bought her to work for the first time! Strange though, I thought it should have been quicker...Takes me 15 mins in the car but took me an hour on the bike?...:D

Had a nice ride out yesterday lunchtime :D I know I ride everyday but it was nice to go out purely for a ride rather than commuting through traffic
Joined by my mate whos recently got a K6 1000 also.

Then when I get home I notice some spots of oil on the drive.....
Turns out that small weep of oil I found a while ago must have been something more serious, oil all over the inside of the lower fairings, its ran all along the bottom edge of the fairing and even dumped some onto the rear wheel, good job I wasn't going for silly lean angles on the ride otherwise I would have been on my arse....

So then I took off the offending oil cooler pipe expecting it to be a dodgy o-ring, nope whole mount on the actual cooler itself has cracked to hell, I would imagine from last years accident but as someone else pointed out to me that right hand thread doesn't look normal either so possibly a helicoil fix at some point before?
Either way its new cooler time, bought one last night and guy calls me this morning and says he has damaged the cooler :( no luck! But someone on a FB group has one so hopefully have something sorted asap.

I did try a new o-ring but if anything in taking it apart its made it worse, within 2 mins of putting it back together and starting it up it literally started pouring oil out :(

First ride in this morning with the new loud exhaust, it really does make a difference. Loads of people moving over/aware I was there.

And by god it pops and burbles nicely on the overrun from high revs, must be the extra fuel being dumped into the exhaust from the vtec 4 valves rather than the 2 valves under 7k rpm. :D Shame you never really get to hear your own exhaust properly!

Well that could have ended badly! Thankfully it didn't :(

Judging by those stress cracks it definitely looks like the accident has unearthed a dodgy botch.

Fingers crossed you get it back on the road soon

Yeah unlucky and lucky at same time, a new one for me :p

Got a decent looking rad coming this week sourced via the Facebook group, see FB is good for something! :D

I agree! I bought my SV with the can it has on it but wow it really is good for filtering. A quick blip now and then and most people are good enough to start looking for you.

It's also good for "Get off your ******* phone, you ******" :D

do you notice all the pedestrians turn and look way before you get level with them? haha

loud pipes really do help everyone
