Prices revealed for Italy and Sweden:

They do look a little high.

Funilly enough I thought the leaked 749EUR for the HTC One M9 seemed unlikely....and to be fair it converted about right over here.

If these do convert similiarly to the One M9 you'd be looking at roughly £685 for the Edge.

This falls in line with my thinking though as I see the S6 landing at £599 and the Edge at £699.

My main gripe is lack of waterproofing. Was hoping Samsung figured out a way to keep the S6 waterproof without sacrificing design. :(

Oh I still don't like those ip6 holes. They could have easily used a different design for them!

While officially it's not waterproof I'm hoping that it will have some level of water resistance at least enough to not have to worry about using it while it's raining....

The iPhone 6, has 6 holes all in a straight line. The GS6 has 10 smaller holes in two rows of 5, so they are already different.

All you've done is add another line of holes.

What ive done is made it look different. Which is what Samsung should have done.

Also I count 6 holes ;)

It is already different, One line of 6 does not look the same as two rows of 5.

If they wanted it tool look different they could have just moved the USB port which can go anywhere on a phone.

This thread has already taken over the S5 thread in post count. Goes to show how lacklustre that phone was.

Still another month before release, booo!

because it makes more £££,it also seems 'new' and 'cool' so it's to attract more buyers to the s6 overall i'd guess.

But 20 million pre-orders...isn't that like the largest for any product ever?!?

That's quite funny! Go S6 thread!

*no doubt kona and Cosimo will have 99.99% of the post count ;)

I'm still in two minds over whether to go for the S6E or wait to see if the Note 5 has an Edge version. The large battery would be attractive in the Note, as would the bigger screen.

I kind of wish Samsung had gone for a 2 tier design, with a ~4.7" Compact and a ~5.5" chunkier version, though if a 5.5" model had the same amount of bezel as the S6 it would be large and fat compared to the likes of the LG G3 (and presumably G4), with none of the reasoning of the M8/M9's size (those speakers). 5.5" is edging up into Note territory anyway.

I know there's not an awful lot of usefulness in the Edge (not as standard anyway - I'm sure there'll be plenty of apps and ROMs which take advantage), and I very rarely think "oooh, shiny... neeeeed!" but the Edge has done that for me.

I know I should, but do I have the control to wait until the Note 5 is released?

Honestly, no. This isn't how phones are ordered in reality, this is marketing fluff. Lets take a big network Vo2-Mobile-Everywhere. They know they will likely sell X premium handsets over a year and know what they need to sate demand over the peak (first 3 months) and tail (through to month 9 and then they will flog off stock at near cost).

The order they put in will be similar to all the other networks so what they do is put in a decent order (if they hit a threshold it might entitle them to a limited edition - this is how cross continent networks get them - they do one order for all markets) but it will look like AA before launch, BB at month 1, CC at month 2 etc... it will be staggered. Are you a big player? you might get extra's based off your demand (you might sell out by day 20 and need a top-up) etc... if you can think of it - it can be demanded. Are you a small player? Maybe your order is a bit worse because the big boys bossed you out. Did you order stupid customisation like some american telcos? Maybe your handset is 4 weeks later. Do you require extra testing? Add in a loss of good will. Did you get to month 3 and find you have 50% of your stock left? Easy, cancel the rest of your orders. Did you get to month 9 and find you STILL have a glut on GS5s even still? Do what all the networks did in the UK and flog it off cheap on contract / PAYG and call it a sale :)

These deals are super large naturally. 20mill is a decent booking but it's not exactly iPhone territory - Samsung might have lowered the upfront price for example to tempt the networks to buy more units up front as they have a lot of capacity etc... Or some other good incentive. Nothing is off the table with them.

This phone might sell like some kinda demon and I hope for Samsung it does but saying you got 20M in telco orders is just the telcos doing a projection knowing in the worst case they can stop orders or recover with a sale.
