**** Sony Xperia Z3 ****

You able to hide the number pad on Lollipop? Tried resizing it but it doesn't let you like it does with widgets. This time next year we may actually have Lollipop on the Z3:p

Yep, it basically looks like this:

That's not my lock screen, I just did a google image search.

So nice and plain screen, and you just swipe up from that lock symbol at the bottom to reveal your keypad. Actually its not really a case of hiding it, its already hidden.

So my Z3 arrived today and now I have it im not sure I've made the right choice, still has the same niggles that my Z2 had, the main one being the volume on handsfree is appalling, there's no way I could use the speakerphone whilst driving which is just odd as the speakers themselves for music and video are pretty loud, I know it comes from just the bottom speaker but its still very very quiet.

Also whilst mine is unlocked its a 3 Branded handset and is using an older build I believe of 4.4.4 just wondering if it can be debranded etc without breaking anything?

Three will unlock the phone for no charge I believe.

The volume that is interesting - i just did some tests it does come out of both speakers but you are right even on the speaker option it does seem quite quiet in comparison to say playing audio through the speakers

I use this device for when I am in the car:

And then have the phone be the radio/podcast etc - although it's a fiddly solution it is also quite neat. When a call comes in it mutes the audio and the phone call is throgh the radio speakers and you use the toggle on the top of the fm transmitter to answer the phone

But if you just want to use the phone just to answer the call in the car unless someone has a suggestion you may be disappointed

I thought there was a software update that increased the volume. Did you definitely download that?

I'm on the latest update - it's not an issue with me but I would agree with the OP that the sound on calls is quieter than standard audio.

Case-mate barely there arrived this morning and a tempered glass protector so can at least put it in my pocket and not worry about scratching it :)

Great combo, adds hardly any bulk to it at all. I went for the clear originally, but have just ordered the black one for a bit of a change, great cases :)

Don't want 5.0 or its variant as they are apparently memory leak and crash fests.
Waiting on 5.1 if it ever appears for ours.
