The BBC bought the rights to the show.
They actually bought it through their commercial arm, which means they could sell it on.

To be fair, if Sky got it i wouldn't complain as more money would be thrown at them.

Nope, we're the halal slaughtered cow, kicking and screaming. Top Gear, and JC is an integral part and without him it wouldn't be the same, is their premium cash cow that gets slaughtered humanely

More hype for a failing so called "motoring" show
Sixth Gear.
I'd like to see them do the same format but for motorcycles.

Calling Top Gear a motoring show is like watching WWF and claiming that to be a "sport".
It's entertainment, I don't get why people are obsessed in calling out TopGear to *not* being a motoring show.
It doesn't have to be that "serious", being suspended he can't film the studio shots.
Also it would suck on another channel, BBC or the web is the only option. As every other channel has advertising and they would not be able to say what they do about cars.
The BBC makes huge profits selling it to other countries.
It's hardly failing, it's also an entertainment show based around cars. Not a boring car review show, which no one would watch. Review are far better suited to youtube in short clips.

The format could do with a refresh, but to be fair this is the first series in around 4 years that's been very enjoyable.
Edit: The studio bits are normally filmed midweek for the coming Sunday's show, so suspect this is why this weekend's has been pulled.
It's one of the better brainless entertainment shows around. If not it would only be replaced with another reality program. Strictly come jihad maybe.
Indeed, some of the comments I've seen so far are shocking. You'd think he mowed down a group of school kids the way some people go on.
No one forces you to watch it. If you hate it watch something else. Why force others who like it to do without ?
