nVidia announce the Titan X at GDC 2015

You mean the card they absolutely refused to show anyone and wouldn't even confirm it was a single or custom card let alone a 390x

yes, well that's exactly where AMD are going wrong !!!!!

AMD need to get some information out right away, to stop the flow of customers to Nvidia and to put an end to this wall of silence

Doesn't make sense for AMD to start building hype now with launch 3 months away. They have been way too slow to respond to Maxwell with actual hardware and we just need to accept that.

I personally feel AMD should be giving info on the 390X. If they have a beast coming that will match the TX, I would be tempted to wait for it. Unless of course it is mediocre and that is why they kept schtum at GDC....

This ^

Air is pap. Although most of us will be using it for the first month whilst we wait for EK, availability is apparently 5 weeks on the blocks, however I'm not sure if that's from now or from launch lol.

The Titan cooler is a genius feat of air cooling. Plus its gorgeous, why anyone would want to remove it is baffling to me, water cooling or not.

i expect it's a beast, but they just cant be bothered to say anything..... who knows why

We all know that you would still end up with that shiny awesome Titan X :D. Anyway if it really only has 4GB that will rule it out for most people wanting to push high resolutions. Maybe that's why there's no point in hyping it.

I honestly think it will be fast but not faster than a Titan X and will offer better price/performance as always.

In fairness, I would have no problems trading monitors for a 4K freesync version and staying AMD. I could grab a couple of 390Xs as well as a 5960X system and probably still have change. My biggest problem is waiting.

Come on chaps, let's not debate over figures we can all see.... Maybe you can help me out on a quick question that I can't seem to answer...

I have enough cash for 2 Titans howver, I am on quite an ageing system now with the 3930K. So would you get a single Titan, a 5930K/5960X (depending on what a single Titan costs), X99 mobo and DDR4 RAM or would you just keep the 3930K and grab a pair of Titans?

I keep going one way and then back again in my head.

Well I'm running 3770k z77 and I'm going to wait for next gen cpu etc, then snaffle a x99 setup. so that's my plan.

Hope this helps.

p.s. yes I am going for x2 Titan x :D but I need a new monitor too so the cpu and mb will have to wait

maybe it was 4GB HBW but they've decided to revert back to 8GB of normal RAM, because they've still got 2 months left to re-mod it...........easy !

the 4GB HBW will be 8GB HBW for next year, but there's not enough time left right now to upgrade the memory and test it, it's far easier to mod a partition of their circuit board back to an 8GB 290x which they know already works.........WHO KNOWS ;):D:D

the 12GB Titan X is a real shock to all of us, but the one thing it definitely tells you is this :- `` have we got enough RAM.......damn it, they'll buy the card that has the most RAM``.

i'd be very careful about releasing a 4GB 390X.........wouldn't you.....esp when most fanboys here asked for 8GB only a few months ago...........forget this new memory tech for now, get it out the door with 8GB

AMD are buried at 4K if this card only as 4GB RAM.....everyone will go for TITAN X.

but if not, Nvidia may release this card in the summer at 6GB RAM and only £500, for want of arguement...........another 970 style bargain card, this will kill AMD Dead in the water.

AMD are being outflanked here really badly and i think, without realising.............interesting times ahead...very interesting

Yes it seems as if NVIDIA have all angles covered with Maxwell. Even a 8GB 980 would sell crazy if they wanted but I think they will make a small fortune off of GM200 first.
