I have started making 100ml of 12mg base for quickness. When mixing I just combine the total nic/pg/vg amounts within the calculator results. Of course this isn't an exact science and of course adding flavour further alters the base as you are adding more PG through concentrates.
If I really want to stick religiously to a recipe, I will but its very easy for me to make up 5x20ml mixes quickly as I am just concentrating on the the flavours and I have over 60 concentrates to combine and discover.

As you know, I bought a custom DNA40 Large Screen mod made in a Hammond 1550p box, I love it, especially now I have added magnets to the battery door, but looking at it I thought, hmm, dual 18650 could fit… so I decided I would have a go at building my own 1550p with Dual 18650 batteries in parallel for the extra life etc… I knew it could be done as there are already several builds done this way and after building a DNA40 into the Cloupor Mini I figured I was up to the challenge…
So I ordered the box and a dual 18650 battery tray and they arrived the next day so I set about preparing the box, cut out the windows, drilled the button holes and 510, cut out one of the screw posts to allow room for the dual batteries and using the metal tabs for the battery tray and some thin plastic sheen I had, I set about making my own “battery tray”.
Here are some pictures I took of the work so far, I have since added in the up and down buttons, but sadly the fire button was sticking so I have had to order more and need to wait for them before I can continue…

Completed Positive contacts

Completed Negative contacts
17A3VLV.jpg
The Negative contacts are pressed against the case when the batteries are inserted, this makes the whole case the negative so I won’t be connecting the contacts to the DNA board, instead I will connect the GRD/Out of the board as normal to the 510 Negative and this should complete the circuit, the Positive wires will be soldered to the back of the Positive pins and then I will use double sided tape to stick the plastic to the foam and the foam to the top of the case.
The plastic holding the two Negative clips is glued at the edges to hold it in place.
Still plenty to do, fit a new Fire button, then solder up the chip, create a panel between the batteries and the DNA chip space and on the bottom of this I will stick the USB charge board so it can be topped up on the fly if needs be, I plan to have it in the space in the bottom right behind the Down button, it will only be visible and useable with the door off.
I shall update further once I get this completed… If it all works!!

Is there space in the case for an AV halo switch?

On a side note... I started using my Beyond Vapes Silo tank.. and hands down its the best tank I've used, the subtank is great for clouds, flavour is good but this Silo with the BVC is on another level.

I've not tried digsby in the subtank yet, but the juices I have tried.. it just dumps it all to you at once so I miss the subtle hint of certain flavours in complex juices. Even in a dripper; digsby (hooligan) taste a bit off and burnt in serveal dippers, but it the silo it like OMG.. it fills your mouth with it and it stays there for ages, I had to drink loads of water to to clear it and I can still taste it now.

I can just about lung hit with the biggest AF setting, but for the £30 pounds I've spend on it.. I would recommend it over the subtank (mini) for everyday use.

Never heard of the phrase electro-magnets or looked into how magnets are made?

The best solution is to stop using mechs.. Or replace the magnets with some from fleabay. Get the same size magnet for the button and a smaller one for the battery, so that there's little to no chance of it touching the sides. You can of course re-magnetise them.

Have you checked the 510 pin in the atty? Made sure the isolator isn't damaged.. Else your end up shorting out other batteries/mods.. Also keep an eye on the battery, it's basically dumped all of its juice in a few seconds; the chemical structure of its guts may not be a healthy as they should be.

Aye I know, the batterys fine, seens to be working as usual, when it shorted, it was literally less than a split second if that.

And yep the 510 is fine.

Nope iv never actually researched magnets at all haha!

Is there space in the case for an AV halo switch?

The space between the inner case and where the batteries sit will be 9-10mm, so depends how long the switch is, also there is not a lot of height for the buttons and screen using the BB tactile switches, if the up/down were put side to side or the fire button put on the front instead it would make more room though, I have a black horned switch on order and will line it up to see if it can fit but otherwise ill be sticking to the Hana style BB tactile switches.

I found the tip of the subtank too fat and a lot of juice collected in the end.

Had a brainwave and nearly midnight, I was on the kitchen floor going through the bin for the gladius I smashed on Monday. After a good clean and a little PTFE tape.

My first mod :)

It's dead simple!

Thank you TommyV I'll look into it :)

JESUS :O

I just mixed up a load of vanilla custard. well I say aload, I made a few variations in 10ml bottles.

Iv got vanilla custard v2 capella, and also the apprentice perfumers vanilla custard I got aswell cause it was only 1.50

Iv mixed vanilla custard in variations of 5% flavour up to 20% flavour, in 5% increments, mixed it at maximum VG, with VG based nicotine 3mg nicotine in total each mix is.

But as the % in flavour goes up, the VG % goes down ofc, so 90% vg is 10% flavour etc, then 20% flavour is 80vg 20pg.

and the perfumers apprentice stuff, well I used 10% 15% and 20% flavour in 10ml bottles.

I just thought, tho I only mixed them half hour ago and they haven't steeped at all, but Iv been shaking the 20% flavoured apprentice vanilla custard every few mins. so I thought it might of mixed a fair bit already especially as its high flavour percent.

Just tried it....................... WOW
WOW WOW WOW

Absolutely beautiful flavour, yum yum yum yum yum yum yum!

Cant wait for these to steep properly!! once I find which flavour % I like the most, gonna mix up as much as I can :D

Its a bit throaty though, even at 80VG 3mg is the 20% flavour one I tried, jesus did it throat hit. a lot lot more than say the RY4 I vape at 70vg 3mg

Is this because its not steeped?

Also, dur in steeping do you guys shake and turn bottles upside down every few hours for a week or so?

Edit: Just poured half of the apprentice liquid that's 20% flavour, into 5ml of VG, so now its 90vg and 1.5mg, its less throaty, flavours still amazing, but damn still get more kick throat and nicotine rush than say the 3mg RY4 Im used to vaping. probably best to just let it steep and stop messing with it for now haha, but its so nice I want it now :P

After a week using NI200, with very good results so far, and not even a hint of a dry hit (and I've been chaining it!) I highly recommend those using the DNA40 give it a try!

And that's it, all working happily, got two purple 3100mah Efest batteries in and usb charge connected and red light showing its charging, so eat that Vaporflask and Istick 50w... 6200mah and replaceable batteries... all for under £100, not counting my time... two evenings of work and no food.

That's some damn fine work right there, very impressive. Thinking about going into business? :D

Took my Lemo out and about today after wicking it in the 'Butt Kickers Reviews' method on youtube. It's wicking nicely but it leaked like a mofo.

Ah well, 50ml of Snake Oil 6mg turned up today at least! Definitely needs some steeping, way too aniseedy right now.

Just got my magma in the post, and it is missing the drip tip :( the one I have is too loose so I will have to get one. Any recommendations on black drip tips?

Cheers Zenf, but no don't think I am good enough to be going into business.
As for the Lemo, I used a variation on Rips Pancake wick method a few days ago on both my Lemo and Delta II, so far No leaks from the Lemo and just a Tiny Tiny bit from the Delta II when I left it on its side for a while and there was only a Tiny amount of juice left in the tank.
Basically once I had the wick pancaked and put the tunnel cover on, I then pushed down the top part of the wick till it was level, not forcing it down into the deck though.

And finally, just finished wrapping the new 1550p with a fake carbon wrap and also put a piece over the internals to tidy it up...

Cracking job UKDTweak!!

Does that mean your be moving on your VF? lol
I think I'm going to base mine on the DNA25 chip... for daily use I don't sub ohm so 25 watts is more than enough for me; with the added temperture feature for the win :)

Cheers Slinxy, and yes I am thinking about selling my VF now, no need for 16 mods and now I have this tiny dual mod the flask seams too big lol

I sub ohm on the sub tank and only run at 15watts, so 25 is plenty, ive a mate at work that is putting the 25w dna40 into a cloupor mini like mine, word of advice, don't cut the fire button off the dna25 board, he did with his first chip, it worked for 30 minutes and then died, no display or firing, so he ordered a second, cut the fire botton off it and it would not turn on at all until he bridged the points the button was using, now its alive..

Did you get the single battery version then? The only reason why I would get a fask at the moment is for the dual batteries, its the only dna40 mod that seems to be obtainable that's dual batteries.

well let us know if your are ;)
I'm just waiting on stocks of the hana v4d.. or the sx350 mini m class.. both around the £200 pound mark but I'm really not sure which one I prefer but something is missing

^ bloody hell slinxy, that's quite a collection :p

1:1 clone Derringer ordered from FT (Had a gift certificate to use up so that swayed the decision!), which has normal screws and not those god awful grub ones.

Will be coupling it with a cloupor mini due to it's size from a UK vendor. Have the overheating issues been resolved in the newer batches?
