nVidia announce the Titan X at GDC 2015

Ok so i say go with 3x titan x's, is this still overkill? Even for upcoming next gen games 4k.
Bear in mind i still have ddr3 ram.
I plan to keep the cards for a few years)

Personally you'd have to be mad , sli maybe but for the handful of games that *might* scale ok with tri sli isn't worth the outlay of an extra £800-£1000

So 3 would be how future proof? (PC games are and will be more adapted to multiple cards.
Also scaling on a mobo with plx chips will be better than without.

3 cards is nice in theory, the reality is that the recent crop of games don't work as intended with three cards. I have four 980 and have been dissapointed.

two cards is the sweet spots unless, the next crop of big games turn things around.

Agreed.

Some games play nice with 3 or 4 cards but I found 2 cards to be the best.

I'm hoping for DP1.3 on these cards. I'm looking to get a decent sized 5k display in the next 12 months or so (hopefully 16:10 as 16:9 can go choke on a bag of *****).
