nVidia announce the Titan X at GDC 2015

This is basically my dream card! Using it for 3d rendering and not gaming, don't need DP, just lots of ram and as many cores as possible running at a decent speed, and cuda unfortunately, which means AMD isn't an option.

I'm hoping though that gaming competition with the 390x will mean competitive prices for the titan as well, or an alternative like a 980ti 6Gb which would also be a good option.

In a well coded title like tomb raider, this card does the business at stock in 4k with the 60 fps marker breached.

Card looks too hot for much oc headroom and will need to work out how much quicker it is than the 980 @ 1500mhz as stock 980 comparisons are almost worthless.
 
Looking at the overclocking results these cards seem to behave the same as my 980s when they run hot, you get lots of artifacts.

Hopefully when on water they will behave the same as the 980s and the artifacts are no longer a problem.

I've never played Total War: Atillia. I assume it has a CPU bottleneck or is poorly coded?

I'm surprised to see this card isn't doing 60 fps on 1440p.
 
At 1080p the performance is absolutely not worth the price. The 980ti or 990 based on the same chip should be nice and at a better price too.

Interesting bit in there about AMD's drivers. Apparently AMD provided them with a new driver in time for the review, though the driver does little to resolve issues in Dying Light, FC4, Metro: Last Light or Hitman Absolution.

Let's hope these aren't the same drivers to be released on Thursday.
