I've never really seen the point of carbon bars to be honest, they don't even seem lighter than a good alloy one. I wouldn't have thought that they'd have any more affect on ride quality than padded bar tape either.

I've never had any carbon bars but I think their main selling point is comfort rather than weight.
I recently swapped an alloy seatpost for carbon on my mtb and it made a huge difference to the way it soaks up vibration.

Hey i've ridden! Not as much as i'd like thanks to a fractured elbow but still, keep the leg hair in winter for insulation ;)

Hahaha I know, I'm not at the stage that my riding is 'serious' enough (or I don't take myself that seriously) to shave my legs...

It was damn cold this morning (or I'm ill) but it's gone sunny and pretty warm now. Hopefully it'll stay that way between 4 and 6 so I can enjoy a long ride home (phrasing).

Yeah -2 here with -1 windchill on the commute in, lots of people scratching at their windscreens! Although by the time I got to work it didn't feel as cold, maybe above freezing.

Looks amazing out there from where I'm sat now, thankfully get to leave early (4:45) to get to the LBS so I might even get to experience some sun! :D

Soooo my PlanetX inner tubes turned up today. The valves are mahoosive! I'm not sure they'll fit my bike :/

Anyone want to buy 11 of them if they dont ? :)

Haha. Exactly the same here. I swear they didn't say 80mm when I ordered. Packing slip says 80mm though.

Bugger.

Best put them on some 60mm carbon flared wheels to mask your mistake. :p

Yes, I like that thinking.

Managed to drag myself out of bed to ride to work. No gloves but still got the tights on!

Need to keep it up for financial reasons and if I plan on going out with a local training bunch and not get pumped!

Remember this? Looks better with deeper wheels and black tape. Photo makes the ergonovas looking weird!

Very nice bike! :D

(that bottle cage on the seat tube looks oddly positioned though? Is it supposed to be away down there?)

Bike looks amazing! Although I'd have gone with Black/White cages...

It's in a similar position to mine (Giant Defy 1 2015)... Weird placement really as the two bottles touch (when you have two in) and the clearance from the chain/big-ring is around 5mm!:rolleyes:

Useless for carrying wine bottles...

I was looking at the routes. I can either go to the Ribble Valley on the Monday, or to Whaley Bridge on the Friday. I could do both but her indoors would go mental :p

Whats the size of the valves?

comes from a guy that used to call speedbumps a hill ha ;) I DONT CARE THAT YOU LIVE IN THE ALPS NOW :mad:

Jealousy doesn't suit you.

:p.

Comfort. They make a big difference. I suffer a lot on longer rides in my left wrist (had an accident as a teenager and suffered nerve damage), really extremely painful, and from the albeit brief testing I've done I want Carbon bars.

FSA Omega Compact (two pairs in the garage if anyone wants them)

Given that I need some new handlebars and still haven't decided which to get, I'd take one off your hands, what width are they and what are you after?

Obviously living in Nottingham seeing some of the TOB should be easy, however I'm due to go on holiday on the 11th September.

Oh well, have booked the ferry to go watch Paris Roubaix instead.

FAO: physichull - I'm not riding with my usual group on Saturday, so I have no fixed agenda for riding up until 12pm when I need to be home. I'm up for riding around Rivington if you fancy tagging along.
