Both 980s on sale now ... If I get what I want or close to and my wife gives me the go ahead tonight I'll grab 2 to last me untill pascal this week . Tempted on the ichill but little bit of a stretch cost wise

At £899 the price/performance is a joke. No doubt the price will tumble though, especially if the 390X beats it (or is even near it), the then Titan will drop like a dead weight. :D

The Titan won't drop like a dead weight. If the 390X gets even close to it's performance it won't be that cheap. So no reason for the Titan to drop.
 
There should have been an option called "Hell no!, I would have picked that one. lol

Max I would pay for it if I had the chance would be £400.
 
Yes as its a dream card for GPU rendering. Might wait to see how the 390x affects prices though, c'mon amd, make nvidia sweat!

My stock 980 Ref card does everything I need it to at this moment in time.

May even try OC'ing it at some point.

Have more important things to spend this much money on.

It's worth as much as people are willing to pay, objectively I don't feel it's worth it but with a lot of high end products the price to performance value lessons as you go up the ladder. I think a lot of peoples issue is for many years the best was 'affordable', but since the titan has been released that shiny new GPU you've forked out over half grand for isn't the best any more, there is a whole other tier up there in the rarefied atmosphere for the super rich or insane!!!, It doesn't bother me to much though as being into hi-fi no matter what you buy there is always something ten times more expensive out there so you learn to be satisfied with what you got.

(Me want titan x :(:o:p)

No, premium is only worth it if you have that kind of money as pocket change. If it was 50%+ faster than a 980 then I would say MAYBE but still leaning towards no more, 80%+ I would probably get one.

Can't wait for the 390X. nVidia need to be put in the backseat for a while.
