It does look like he will return if the Sunday Times is anything to go by. They will be reporting that the remain episodes will air, albeit delayed, Henry cavil and Gary linker as SIARPC and the hyper car showdown is being set up as a bonus episode. Apparently editing is still ongoing.

No, I think the common thinking is that it's all three or none at all...as far they are concerned. And given all their contracts are up in May it's a bit of a squeaky bum time for the BBC, because like it or not TG is the most watched and most profitable factual program in the world and it firms a big part of the BBCs overall programming budget surplus.

The BBC haven't handled this whole thing professionally at all. I think it's far to say Top Gear, as we know it, is dead. Even if cleared, or of it gets that far with his contract up end of the month, after the BBC briefing, through an exec, that this is in any way like Savile, why would he want to work for them again?

The 3 of them will go, 3 right on presenters will take over, we'll see segments about disabled car parking, inequality in the ratio of ethnic first time passers of the driving test and how the colour of your car shows how racist you are.
