I guess this is the console X86 win AMD were talking about a while back:

If it's AMD powered, it's unlikely to be less powerful than Xbone or PS4: They'll use an off the shelf APU/SOC, which will be more advanced than those two machines. Might cut back somewhere in the spec, but it'll certainly be competitive
Agreed,if it is a home console and it comes out say holiday 2016 then it will have to compete with the slim xbox one and ps4,which at that point will both be priced at $300/£230-250
The move to 14nm next year along with architectural improvements from Amd's k12/newer GCN,they could create a system in similar size/power consumption as the wii u whilst being as powerful as the ps4.
Don't think they would sacrifice performance to xbox one levels and have the whole resolution downgrade fiasco that has cost microsoft millions of units.
So far in the 2 years that the XO/PS4 has been launched there hasn't been a single must have game on either system for me to warrant buying one so if nintendo can get 3rd party parity on there next home system along with there first party titles i think they could have a winner on there hands.
The main problem with the wii u is that they released it just 1 year before the 'next gen' systems from microsoft and sony and for nintendo's next system to really thrive they will need 3rd party parity, the gamecube and wii u has proved they can't survive off there own software only.
Then again it might not be a home console, but i can't see nintendo producing another handheld if there going to have teams dedicated to mobile games ,nintendo has small development teams and there's no way they could pump out nintendo quality titles for mobile, a dedicated handheld and a home console.
All in all i actually think this is a positive move and i can't wait for some proper high quality exclusive mobile games...will have to wait and see if they can deliver.
