Surely a great excuse to buy a new frame. ;) Guy I know just dropped a grand on a set of track wheels but the disc rubs on the chainstay, so he's using that as an excuse to buy a Dolan DF4.

Yes but the plan was to buy a new bike later in the year as a birthday present, and if I buy a frame now I'll never get that past the Enjoyment Protection Officer (yoink Asprilla ;)).

Great ride this morning (early!!) with Vonhelmet. Went up (literally) to Rivington, Belmont and Anglezarke. Got plenty of hills in and I'm pretty much done for the day now!

Decent weather, if a little on the chilly side. Didn't wear overshoes and my feet were like blocks of ice in parts.

Was a bit worried heading to the meeting point as I felt tired and every turn of the crank was lethargic. Went walking up Helvellyn on Wednesday and ruined my calf's but fortunately they weren't too bad today.

Super ride von, up for doing that again in hopefully warmer conditions! 80km and 1200m of climbing.

And the usual maniac drivers. We got overtaken by a car, which was fine, but what wasn't fine was another car attempting to overtake that car at the same time with an oncoming cyclist and car. Utterly crazy.

My feet have now defrosted and my nose is sore after continuously wiping it on my glove!

Easily the best ride of the year today. Felt good, perfect weather, quiet roads and a new route that turned out to be great. Probably shouldn't have come back on a dual carriageway but damn, can you hold some high speeds on there. It's almost like, shock horror, a good road surface makes all the difference. Oh, and i still suck on climbs.

Grey and windy here but with no sign of it clearing up I decided to head out for a short run anyway. As soon as I close the garage door it becomes grey, windy and drizzly. I press on and decide to do an even shorter run. By the end of the road it was grey, windy and soaking. At this point being inappropriately dressed and on the wrong bike I should have turned round and gone home but I had the brain wave of sprinting around a short 5 mile route... turns out I can't sprint that well :o

Got home with a knackered throat, soaked and feeling a bit rough after a whopping 18 minutes and not even a PR on the two segments I covered :p

I'll write today off and have another go tomorrow :p

Usual run for me this afternoon. 26 miles, low winds between 4 and 8mph so i think this one's got a fair reflection on where i am speed wise.

Did have a slip (foot slip not fall) when i was clipping myself back in so had to wave a car past then continue. Think I knocked about 5 minutes off my previous best so quite pleased with it.

Slow ride with some new riders though they've both improved a lot so it was nowhere near as painfully slow as previously for the most part. Very nice weather - I just hope it holds up for tomorrow when I cycle through the Goyt.

Funny that as it didnt rain here today and we're about 3-4 miles from you ? I'm hoping to get out tomorrow aswell if it gets out sunny.

Hahaha Mike Brown and the French...hooker was it? Naughty school kids. "Yes sir, yes sir, sorry sir". This is why Rugby is so much better than Football.

You've got the wrong thread old bean , you need the funny shaped balls thread

Yeah it was a real pain. It was just a heavy drizzle but combined with the wind and my non waterproof clothing it was pretty nasty. Lasted almost exactly the duration of my ride

Worst thing is I got my new bike wet  :p
