BF Hardline - AMD cards getting panned (not by much)

If nvidia users are getting the dx error (swap chain), they need to roll back to another driver. 340.52 worked for me.

Fraps doesn't work with it, neither does FLAC calculator.
There was a user.cfg command line I had to use in the beta to get FRAPS working. Without it the game refused to launch. I'll see about adding it later when back on the pc.

lol @ the thread name change :D

Well, in around 30 mins, my time with the 290X comes to an end :( But.... I will be rocking a pair of 7950s till the TXs arrive

May God have mercy on my soul :D

Oh dear :(

Dodgey drivers is my bet, maybe they are hoping to put Mantle back in and save it? who knows.

Nope, right where we should be and actually ahead/equal to the 980 if an 290X 8GB card is used. Expect more performance reviews to pop up shortly for this game.

I haven't run a test yet but some of these review results seem very strange to me, everytime i look at my Frame Rates they are in the 80's or 120's.

Looking at some of these reviews claiming 45/50/60/80 Average for 290/X and GTX 970/80 just makes me have a huge WTF?!?!?!!!!! moment.

Maybe i should switch back to DX to see where all the Frame Rates are going. eh?

I cant understand why the same old people are doing the same old crap.

just get on and play the bloody game and stop looking at numbers and graphs!

I've got a very detailed article up on my website (HardwarePal) for the beta if anyone is interested in posting the link here. I don't think things changed that much as the game played perfectly fine.

It has all the frame times in charts for single and sli/cfx.

It matters, to say that a high end GTX 970 / 290P can only manage 45 FPS average is a nonsense, that would be unplayable and it forces people to look at much more expensive solutions where in reality they don't need to.

I would like to know how they got to those results but unfortunately these days they never publish their methods so its impossible to verify them.

IMO Mainstream reviewers are no longer valid, they all have people with commercial interests pulling their strings.

And thats fine, but they should at least publish how they get to those results so that users can say "this is how they got to those results" if they are not (utterly fictitious for commercial purposes)

Well people need to be informed, but as long as im getting my 60fps Vsync or caped i dont careless after that, the only time i bring up the OSD to look at fps and such is if it feels like im not getting my 60fps.

I'm not a mainstream reviewer and it's a hobby of sorts.

You want the frap logs for validation ? :D

That's the testing methodology and all settings are included so you can test against them.

Thats going to be difficult to replicate, at least you publish your methods :)

Can you put a link up to your results please?

I'm going to have a go my self at getting some consistent results when i get back home.
