Or just worked hard and made a success of himself? That happens too.

Did you see what his first car was at 17? People generally only start working then. Like I said did he get lucky in a good job, or his parents get him going somewhere. I was far from suggesting he is ElliottJames.

It's still owned by me, registered in my name, paid - waiting collection so I would say I own it.

Paid by mammy and daddy. Your name, but you didn't buy it.

I don't see why its such a issue, people on here seem to give kids a lot of stick if they have rich parents that buy them nice cars.

When I was 17 my parents spent £4k on a car for me which to them was a lot of money at the time. If his parents make say £300k pa and spent £25k on a car its not really that different.

If my dad was rich at the time he would have bought me a £10k car.

It fell to bits and rusted away. I ended up putting ebay special springs on it which just made it a death trap. Bumper fell off whilst going 50mph so i decided to get a new car the next day.

What have I had?

First car in 2004 was a 1996 Fiat Cinquecento SX with 899 cubic centimetres of "engine". Cost: £200

Then in 2005 it was replaced with a 1998 Renault Megane 1.6 RXE. Cost: £2700 I think.

Then in 2007 that was replaced with a 2000 Honda Accord 2.0 SE. Cost: £3800 I think.

In 2008 I bought a 1990 MX5 1.6 as a second fun car. Cost to buy: £1900. Cost spent on mods: £lots. It was huge fun though. Supercharged, uprated suspension, uprated brakes, lightweight wheels, etc. I sold it in 2012 :(

In 2010 I bought a 2004 Ford Mondeo ST220 to replace my Accord. Cost to buy: £6750. Will always miss that car, it really got under my skin. Had many an adventure in it.

In 2014 I bought my current car, a 2010 Ford Mondeo 2.0 Ecoboost Titanium X Sport Powershift, to replace my ST220. It's an excellent car and feels like natural progression from the ST220. Cost to buy: Just over £10,000. By far my most expensive car. I hope it lasts!
