** TRULY INSALE DEALS ON GTX 780Ti & GTX 770!! **

Yep, still a decent card for 1080p. Some newer games you may have to lower a few settings to keep within the 3gb vram limit.

We don't know yet, Gibbo said he'd have a look and let us know when they arrive in stock

It is PC partner and NVTM, so cards built to NVIDIA spec with NVIDIA coolers. However they could come packaged as PNY, Inno3D, Manli or Zotac, or a mixture.

Irrelevent of box they are all the same. :)

How would a 780ti compare overall with a 290x? It appears that going by Anand that its game dependent, and at higher resolutions the 290x pulls away a bit but overall a bit faster. It runs hot but not apparently quite as hot as the 290x as well. I tend to think of this as a side grade rather than upgrade but what does every one here reckon?
Also when are Ocuk accepting orders for these, already or when they're in stock?

Ahhhhh...to hell with it, just stumped up for one! Its the only card that fits my requirements due to doing a pc case change.

Are you going 8gb 290x to 3gb 780ti ?

I guess the 780ti will be an upgrade from a 480 GTX? :D (I bought it years ago b grade from the store and hasn't missed a beat!). Does this require the same as 480 gtx? 8 pin + 6 pin?

Edit: Ordered :D

yep, let me explain. The 8gb on the 290x is not needed as theres not enough gpu grunt to make use of it, its only relevant when going Xfire which I have no intention of doing.
The 290x runs hot, thats a well known fact, and the 780ti does run a bit cooler. the 780ti also is a little bit more powerful so I "should" see minor performance gains. Its only got 3gb as opposed to 4gb (useful Vram) on the 290x and as I only game (for the moment) at 1080p I reckon 3gb will be sufficient and if not, I'll just turn down the in game settings a bit (I'm certainly not a hardcore gamer who wants the absolute max visuals/ bells and whistles, etc).
Also, and heres the major reason, I'm modding a 15 year old cooler master ATCS 200 case to gain more internal room and so fit larger fans to hopefully improve cooling. Now, at this stage of the mod I want to hedge me bets as it were and avoid dumping hot air into the case, so a reference cooler is the way to start with (though I do intend to instal a Corsair H55/Kraken G10 combo in the future). So, to summarize, the 780ti offers comparable performance to a 290x, is reference cooled, relatively cheap due to the offer on Ocuk, Is marginally faster than a GTX970, which I refuse to have due to Nvidia's handling of the Vram issue (my decision and no-one elses ), slightly cooler running than a reference 290x and quieter too.
So I reckon there is method in me madness :)

From what I've in reviews of the 789ti, I reckon you'll be pleasantly surprised.:)

Have to say OCUK do come up with some really good deals in that they can sometimes price new parts around the same level of the recent second hand market.

On an auction site right now there are two EVGA 780 Ti Superclock cards at £201 with over a day left on each auction (so expect final price to be higher) - and will be coming from the USA. Here you can get brand new cards(albeit lower stock clock speeds) with zero risk of being ripped off for £249.99 :) - awesome.
I might just pick one up to match with a factory OC'd one I have - hopefully would be able to clock it up to the same 980ghz. Was thinking about upgrading to a Titan X but this offer tempting me to keep the Ti to SLI

Should still be 8 + 6 pin but recommended PSU specs for the 780ti are 600w with 42 amps available on the 12v rail.

After seeing those anandtech scores and surprised the 780ti beats the 970, i have asked ocuk to swap my order for the 770 to it
But now just realised the superflower 550w golden green i ordered wont cut it

I think you'll probably be OK if it's the one with the single 12v rail at 45 amps.
