*** The Official Bloodborne Thread ***

The loading time bothered me at first with dying a lot but now that iv got quite far I don't die much apart from bosses or stupid rushing mistakes. I actually like the loading times to give me a breather and think about what I did wrong and what I can go next time especially on bosses.

I'm still struggling on the start level am I supposed to be spending on upgrades ? and personally I don't find the combat deep enough seems pretty basic stuff wish there were a combo at least.

Just ruined the Cleric Beast on my first attempt of the night :) I don't feel I did much different it just seemed to go my way. I was sweating loads when it had a tiny bit of health left and I shouted when it went down. Not felt a satisfaction like that in a game since we'll ever.
I did it with two handed axe, no molotovs.

Finally explored the first area fully and reached the Cleric boss. He beat me, but I was not really stocked up for the fight and still got him down to 50% health before running out of vials. Lost 4000 souls as I didn't realise I had reached the boss and the path back was fogged out :(

I think I could beat him easily after a tiny bit more farming and maybe levelling up my Cane.

Earlier on my weapon broke! I forgot your weapon gets weaker over time (like in Demons Souls). Got to remember to fix it each visit to the Hunters Dream, as it makes a huge difference.

If you have opened the shortcut you'll be at the boss fight you lost against and if you have 20 vials and 10 Molotov's you'll beat him and recover the 4k blood echoes as they'll be on the floor in blood puddle or the cleric beast has consumed them and he'll release them when you koll him.

I lost out to farther Gascoigne but on my second attempt got him and got my echoes back..

I know.. It's like, yes he's dead and you just jump off the sofa. Then sit back down and go phew and you just feel so good. I too have never had that feeling from a game before..

Well done. I felt the same when I took him down.. I did it with the axe as well.

Not sure where to go next, I know there is a sewer area I bailed out of earlier and I came across a woman who wants me to find her a safe place so may just explore a bit and see what I can turn up.
I enjoy the exploring.

Beat Father Gascoigne on my 3rd attempt tonight then had a little explore around the cathedral. Man, this game, kicks your ass if you're sloppy, rewards you if you think about your approach. For those struggling, farm a bit to level up, the extra damage you deal will make life so much easier.

You'll get him eventually.. I almost gave up.

Best not mention the second boss erm yeah. Now he was seriously sadistic when he got into a rsge..

Made the cleric boss look like a bloody kitten when I got the second boss into a rage.

the most I got him down to was about 25% health, not helped by my failed attempts at my Molotov cocktails mostly missing when he quickly moved.

The right way to go is....

Sewer, it'll lead you to the next section

Had a feeling it would be. Going to practice killing those werewolves on the bridge for a bit and I want to clear the old area just to save up for a few bits. I treated myself to the hand lamp earlier.

Well, it's not really a direct shortcut as you have to fight 5 or 6 enemies. They killed me btw and I lost my 4k souls :)

I have decided to explore and farm a bit. Reached some sewers and encountered some sort of giant pig or rat that I barely escaped. Then got lost and died, with no idea how to get back there and get my newly amassed 3k souls. Put the PS4 into rest mode for a bit.

Hmmm.... that's the direction I went exploring. I'm guessing it is relatively fruitless, as I haven't beat the 1st boss yet?

Just used a summoning bell for the first time to defeat the shadows of yaharnam. Took them down first time when there wasn't 3 of them all going for me.

For those that haven't beaten the first boss do you ever attempt to parry? Because if you don't I would recommend practising. Easiest enemy imo to parry is the big bloke with the brick...

what level should i be temping the clerical beast at? Currently level 16, but he killed me in two hits first attempt at level 10 ( i needed the leveling ability)

Just to note this is the first From Software game i've played and finding it tough.

I killed it at level 13 and had a +1 on my axe and I'd upgraded my armour with the set for sale at that point.

I'm a bit stuck for where to go, i've been running around different areas for a bit but can't find any new places to set foot in...

So far i've done Gascoigne, Cleric Beast, Vicar Amelia, Witches and Darkbeast Paarl
