*** The Official Bloodborne Thread ***

Ok just spent another two hours on this and guess what I'm no further than when I first launched the game last Friday grr
I play lots of video games and didn't think I sucked that much lol

It took me. Until tonight to make some progress and I made a fair bit of it. Got to second boss and thought I was doing really well until I dropped him. 50%.

5th boss down (Witch of Hemlock) - second attempt. It would've been the first but I accidentally trapped myself in a corner :D

I hate the dogs there so hard to read :( ...

Just taken down the cleric on my 2nd attempt didn't need to level up just used about 12 blood vials to keep my health up and kept dodging his attacks to get behind him with the threaded cane r2 attack , took the first quarter of his health with molatovs though :D

Felt good to take him down ! Levelled up to 13 now , just need to build strength up so I can use that kirk hammer , didn't realise I needed 16 strength :(

Question about something I encountered in sewers.
I found the hunter woman who I attaxked first as I thought was an enemy and I spoke to her twice. On the second time I got an item like shake off Cape or something but I don't see anything in my inventory.

That isn't an item. Its a gesture, if you press on the left hand side of your touch pad it'll bring up your gestures, you can swap them in and out with Triangle.

If you happen to see that person again and you're using a dex build I recommend listening to them and figuring out how to help them. Or just kill :p

after killing the cleric and lighting that lamp, have you got to go back past the ogre on the bridge everytime ? Seems a bit daft he's harder then the boss when I've no molatovs :(

Just hit him with a pistol shot when he's halfway through his attack and then hold R1 for your execution as he's bent down on one knee. It's pretty much a one shot kill.

No, just go to hunters dream and then go to central yarnham and go towards the sewer's.

Forth boss down, somehow had to fight

some electrical charged beast called defeat darkbeast Paarl and omg I use 20 vials and had a slither of health , I am amazed he went down. And I do not even know how I got teleported to him. I was on my way to find what I thought was my forth boss, appears not. Odd , this game is very twisted and sadistic ...

Finally explored the first area fully and reached the Cleric boss. He beat me, but I was not really stocked up for the fight and still got him down to 50% health before running out of vials. Lost 4000 souls as I didn't realise I had reached the boss and the path back was fogged out :(

I think I could beat him easily after a tiny bit more farming and maybe levelling up my Cane.

Earlier on my weapon broke! I forgot your weapon gets weaker over time (like in Demons Souls). Got to remember to fix it each visit to the Hunters Dream, as it makes a huge difference.

rp2000

Easiest way to beat Cleric is to just kite him around until he does the 4 swipe combo attack, any of the 4 can be parried.

Something I've figured out with parrying is that the window that an enemy can be parried is when the attack would otherwise do damage, like the 'impact' window so to speak is the time they can be stunned, not preemptively or afterwards. Dash back, fire, dash forward, R1, works everytime. It's disgustingly easy when you get the hang of it, started a new game and Gascoine didn't hit me once in human/feral form just because the dash out-parry-in technique has no counter.

Respect on using the cane btw, most fun weapon I've ever seen in a Souls game :D

If you go back there should be a hunter's badge there, it let's you buy the Stake Driver and an armor set if I remember rightly

Thanks mate, the fully charged up R2 of the stake driver is... interesting :D the ragdoll physics are AMAZING with the force it knocks things back with if it kills them!

Cheers I did think of that but didn't want to miss anything :) .... what's to the left passed them 2 beasts were you drop down ? Just before going into that house then through into sewers ?

I highly recommend the axe in 2 handed mode (L1). I couldnt get used to guns so i find this a great compromise the range and combined with power destroys most enemies. I've just unlocked challice dungeons so will have a good play with those before carrying on.

I take it you got killed by one of the enemies carrying the large sack after going through that new door by the lantern?

I'm impressed you killed Paarl that early, he's not too tough at the right level but you're there earlier than you should be by a long way. Get yourself out of that zone for now, there's not much you can do there until you go there again later in the game.

Well the two beasts if you defeat them or run past them leads to a elevator switch, but sadly it won't work, you need to head through the other house before the two beasts and head straight towards the wolves and on to the sewer's. It's a bit of a long trek towards the second boss, but don't get greedy in fights and you should come it.

I csnt fully remember, but I think the switch to activate the elevator short cut is when a grunt beast throws a flaming boulder... Once you get the shortcut open makes the second boss trek very short.

I did yes, and it took me by surprise. I wasn't ready for him at all, and he was a evil sod, and charged at me with great speed. I worked him out quickly. When he put his head down, hit him with a strong hit right between his eyes, took large chunks out of him which I then turned and ran whilst he went mental. Couldn't avoid his electrical charge. Hence I went through so many vials.. It was close, and bronze trophy was my reward , and me whooping at the TV lol

Right well that's my slaying over for tonight. Gone from moaning like a little girl on Friday when I got the game to now loving it and turning my hunter into a mean monster slayer..

I do see what everyone says, once you get the games mechanics it's a wonderful experience and I'm glad I finally learnt how to play it..

But, it's one hard game to play. No matter what you do. You do die. A lot.
