Joey Essex can't be that thick shirley?

Money doesn't make you any less of an idiot.

Paris Hilton for example, has more money than Joey Essex could ever dream of, she's still a cretin.

I'm not so sure, the thick members of the Hilton dynasty are the ones who just spend their inherited money.

After watching the videos, I think he's on the wind up.

Pretty sure she makes her own wedge, from perfume and product sales and the likes.

Guess my levels of boredom wouldn't even reach thinking about pointless 'celebrities'

Different strokes, thank god we're not all like you, this world would be one hell of a miserable place to be.

This thread was intended to be a bit of fun, quite why you insist on trying to insult me I don't really know (or care actually).

He probably is that thick. But he could just be a character created to make celeb lovers feel more intelligent.

He'd have to be in the top level of Mensa to play that "thickie" card he plays all the time.

I'm sticking with opinion that he's thick as mince. If not thicker.

He's become "famous" by a) being thick as mince while b) appearing on one of the most scripted "reality" TV show on telly.

He makes me want to punch the telly.

I think he probably is a bit stupid but puts most of it on. At the end of the day he has managed to get a career out of it, so who really are the stupid ones?

I've often wondered the same thing, OP.

I don't buy it.... It's an elaborate act IMO. The longer he keeps playing dumb, the longer his strained career will last by doing comedy panel shows like celebrity juice and 8 out of 10 cats where the host will ask him stupid questions such as 'what is the capital of England' and he will get the answer wrong and everyone will lap it up.

He probably isn't the brightest spark, but I've always assumed that for the most part he is playing a character.

Another example of this is Karl Pilkington, he has some pretty warped views on things, but he no doubt plays up to a lot of what Ricky Gervais has moulded his character to be. Can't blame him, the bloke is now a millionaire as a result.

Acting !
He reminds me of a dumb schoolgirl...the attention grabbing type from school, the ones that mispronounce words to sound different.
(sorry girls I'm sure there were boys doing it also but that wasn't my experience)

Who no doubt earns more than most here, so who are the real idiots?

A valid point; and one that is always brought up.

It says a lot about our society nowadays where you can get rich by being thick. Children in school aspire to be these people. They want to be 'reality TV stars' when they get older. Not Doctors, musicians, teachers, athletes.

15/20 years down the line he will be a nobody, and his 'fortunes' will be gone.

At what cost though? The whole country thinks he's got an IQ of 12, and will forever be known as a moron.

Act or not, that's a pretty high price to pay for a living in my humble one. It's going to impact all but the closest of personal relationships, and affect everything you do.

Besides, if he is that cretinous I doubt very much that he came up with the idea to use his stupidity to earn some money all by himself. From his public image I'm pretty sure he's got a Post It note with instructions on how to breath in his wallet.

There is a difference, Pilkington is intelligent, he just lacks common sense and the ability to think before he speaks.
Brian Belo is in the same camp as Joey Essex, genuine idiot, with zero life experience so is amazed by everything they see, both have doubtless played up to it, as it's what makes them money.

He's likely unintentionally said a few stupid things at the start of his reality TV career, realised* he got a lot of press/exposure for doing so and so now has incorporated it into his act/persona as he knows it will generate more publicity for him.

*or his agent/PR person has realised and told him to keep saying ridiculous things
