That's fair but it doesn't mean that if you use DP everyone else does
Without DP... Heck, without a reasonable sensible reason to buy one they become nonsensical. To me, any way. And remember kids, I'm talking about the card here
not those who bought them. There's a big difference.
It has a LED that lights up on the side Geforce GTX (not sure if it has other lights on OF Titans and Titan Blacks)
Titan and Titan black both had that. Titan X was clearly shown, and posh pictures show clearly, that both the Titan logo and the fan area lit up. I said before launch I was impressed with the Titan logo part as it would allow colour masking for modding. But no, piece of chromed plastic.
If it doesn't helping with cooling which has been mentioned I personally prefer it not to, than bake in my build
Now you're just making excuses for them. The 980 HOF has a back plate. Most other 980s have a back plate. Throughout the history of time some of the hottest, meanest GPUs have a back plate. Even the GTX 480 could be fitted with one !
The point I'm making is that for £900+ it should not be missing
anything.
Had I bought one only to find that -
The box was some generic tat that any other GPU gets.
It was missing the LEDs etc
I would be upset. I certainly wouldn't try and excuse the fact that Nvidia were too mean to fit a ten pence white opal piece of acrylic and a 5 pence LED.
Yes really, 6GB is not enough (for the cards demographic) so its either 8GB or 12GB to future proof slightly more even though you can't actually use it without running out of grunt.
When Titan came out I laughed at 6gb. Little did I realise that the new consoles had a Radeon type GPU and the consoles themselves have access to 6gb of vram.
The Titan X is not a 4k card. You still need two of them, so putting that much VRAM on it is a oxy moron. It just doesn't make much sense.
AT LEAST the original cards had double precision, meaning those who wanted it could have it for less than a quarter of the price of admission for an equivalent of the Tesla. That alone gave it the right to be expensive AND carry a name like that.
As thus I think this particular Titan is a bit rubbish. TBH I think 99% of "Gaming product" is rubbish too and that's most certainly what this Titan purports to be.
