nVidia Drivers almost as bad a AMD?

This problem has nothing to do with the actual drivers, Nvidia drivers are great quality and have been for quite some time.

Out of all the drivers I've ever used, both the quadro, beta's or what ever, I've only ever had problems with two officials.

Amd however :o

I use DDU and have NEVER and I repeat NEVER had any issues with driver uninstalling and reinstalling or updating.

That maybe true but using a third party piece of software to do a process that 99.99% (probably) is done properly with the built in nVidia installer/deinstaller just adds another level of risk.

People don't need to use DDU unless they're having an issue that is not resolved by simply uninstalling and reinstalling the driver using add/remove programs.

There has not been a need to use crappy Driver Uninstaller programs since Clean Install options were available natively in the driver installer packages.

I used DDU to clean out those dirty AMD drivers (but I also used a Priest to exorcise my computer) but other than that, I never use it and basically just install over the top of older one's.

Both drivers aren't any better than each other. People are only fooling themselves if they believe that one is "better" than the other and are blinded by their loyalty to said brand.

Seen plenty of reports from both sides over the last year when it comes to problems.

Personally I use DDU all the time.

Some people use DDU (or the likes) then blame AMD/nVidia if/when it screws up.

In 20 odd years I've only needed a DDU like tool for nVidia once that I can recall and rarely if ever needed it for (ATI)AMD since about 2001.

Neither AMD or NVidia drivers are (single GPU) particularly better or worse then each other, nor are NVidia they less likely to release something that breaks.

The difference I've always found is NVidia can break something, release a hotfix that makes it worse, patch it so that it at least runs, break it again and then finally resolve the issue before the AMD driver’s team have had their morning coffee.

Then blame the drivers when you mess it up with DDU. Simples! :p

I've yet to need it on either vendors cards and have seen way more "I used DDU and came unstuck" threads than "I don't know what to do" threads getting resolved by DDU so really wouldn't advise anyone to touch it unless they've tried doing things the normal way first.
