The HTC One Hima (M9) Thread

I'll get it downloaded and try and get some usage over the next couple of days.

Anyone running a case on it? In so tempted to run without one but loving my Wireless charger module so really need a case to hide it. Only problem with the slim fit Spigen is the top and bottom edges are exposed.

S6 scores better than the M9 (PhoneArena). The M9 consistently scores poorly for a phone with a bigger battery and 1080p screen. Wonder what the deal is.

That seems to apply better in some tests but Android Central were pretty scathing of the S6 in terms of battery life. In real life usage of the M9 so far the battery hasn't been much of a concern/issue.

I'm hoping since the Snapdragon 810 is pretty new we'll see some further optimisation in the battery department as time goes on.

Hopefully we'll see incremental improvements in terms of the camera etc as Android Versions get released and HTC throw in their updates along with them.

Hardly a scientific test from Android Central though, ARS Technica and Anandtech tests are very controlled.

At the end of the day though, if battery life is good enough for the individual, that's all that matters.

True mate.

What surprises me most is the less battery life than the M8, just seems to show how power hungry that 810 chip is.

Wow, just read the Ars Technica M9 review and boy, does he hate it. Granted, I haven't had a shot on the phone but all the moaning about HTC making their own gallery app is stupid. Personally I like the fact that HTC makes their own apps to fit into the OS framework. It matters because it reinforces their design aesthetic, which is a continuation of the design philosophy behind the phone. It is also a selling point for me. Ugly OEM apps mean I'm straight off to the Play Store to replace them. You shouldn't need to do this in a £500+ device - so well done HTC for consistently implementing the best Android skin around.

Got my HTC One M9 coming on Tuesday :D

Can anyone recommend a decent case/cover?

Well I'm currently using the Spigen Thin Fit and have the Strong Capsule one coming, should be here on Monday.

The Thin Fit one is great as it has a nice finish and feels good in the hand, doesn't add much bulk but it does leave the top and bottom edge exposed, something to be wary of.

I watched the drop tests of the phone and it scares me to even think about doing the day to day stuff without one on it...even although it feels so good in the hand :p

Well I got my Spigen Strong Capsule in and it's a fantastic case protection wise. They've fully protected the corners without adding much bulk and the bottom covers actually feel pretty good too :)

On the rear looks they've copied the top and bottom lines on the rear mimicing the HTC design.

Seems a good choice and offers a nice trade off...will try and get some pics of the fit.

So here's the Spigen Strong Flex Capsule case and the link below. It certainly a rather snug fit, feels great in the hand and obviously offers great protection.
I don't feel it adds much bulk either which is certainly a bonus. Only £5.99 too which is certainly what I'd consider a bargain.
