Hi guys,

I ordered some iBCAA unflavoured powder, was wondering if anyone had any good intake routines...am I right in thinking I can just have a scoop of this thrown in with a Protein shake?

The taste would probably make you want to evacuate your stomach pretty sharpish for a start BCAA is not pleasant tasting.

Use it when training fasted or I use it as part of my peri workout shake along with some maltodextrin.

Focused clean and jerk tekkers session last night. Matched my pb @100kg. Felt I could have gone in for another heavier, but didn't have time.

Need to watch for firing my hips and dropping too early, as sometimes I'm not extending fully. I'm lucky, I'm super quick under the bar.

A crossfitter that actually cares about their form? You're in the wrong sport ;) Nice lift man! Keep meaning to try out the oly lifts but too scared I'd end up on a one-way ride to Snap City.

Most of the (justifiable) stick for Crossfit comes from the U.S. bits, simply because the structure is different. Over there, Joe Average can open up a box without much sport/strength/conditioning background which results in the Crossfit videos on Youtube...

A lot of UK outfits have accredited British Weightlifting coaches which take liftechnique a lot more seriously than in the U.S...

This is a brilliant thing, IMHO.

Stop talking sense man! Let's get back to how crossfit is a one way ticket to snap city not stopping at gainsville.

Cheers fella.

Most Crossfitters do care about form. It's a fallacy that they don't, you'd be an idiot not to care. Sure, there are people out there with poor form, but walk in to any globo gym and do you see everyone using equipment and lifting correctly?

At our box all the coaches are sticklers for correct form. Almost every day there is a section of the session prior to the main work out where we will look into technique and the coaches will go round offering guidance. On numerous occasions I've seen the coaches tell people to take weight off the bar mid workout.

I love the Oly lifts :)

Agree to a point,

Would you just go ahead and plunge a heap of your own money and life into opening a gym if you didn't really have a passion for it or decent amount of knowledge? I would say it's almost never the box owner that would teach bad form, it's when a box has grown in size too quickly and they have had to take on an additional coach that isn't up to scratch. Some of these US boxes are just behemoths.

Unflavoured BCAA literally tastes like vomit. Prepare yourself, even lime cordial can't mask it.

Guess im weird, I don't mind the taste at all!

If you knew you would make a massive ROI, wouldn't a slightly less ethical version of yourself not be too worried about getting people sorted if it meant you could buy your house? Send your kids to college, etc?

That's what happens when you wrap your legs in to oblivion and stop everything from gliding around properly.

Dno.

He's wearing knee wraps and a tight squat suit. I'm guessing that he's not quite sat back in the right groove so the suit isn't moving in the right way... and his quads have to give way for the weight to continue moving down. Either way, holy balls.

How many exercises do you guys do on calves? I currently do around 2, twice a week and i'm not convinced its enough (i do like 20-25 rep sets light/medium weight) as i know they take some serious taxing for growth. Exercise suggestions also would be good, i currently do seated calf raise and a seated machine assisted calf extension.

I do zero direct work on them at the minute.

I was partially joking :p

I have wondered how having wraps around your knees can be a good thing sometimes...
