Looks fab, really nice but for one thing. Mudguards - seriously? A bike that good looking is worth a wet arse.

Yeah, was gonna say the same thing. Bike looks great - the frame, wheels and seat to bar drop make the whole thing look fast. Then you stick guards on it and ruin it. Next thing you'll have a bum bag hanging off the seat post as well. *shakes head* Sort it out!! :D

In other news, spring appears to be over. Brutal weather on the club run this morning. Wind was horrendous for everything bar about 10 miles in the middle, and then to top it off we got the skin flayed off by hailstones periodically. Then it rained. Then it snowed.

Remind me, we do this stuff for fun, right?

It's a commuter as well as my weekend bike so it needs guards really - in fact, the main reason I went Chinese carbon and custom build in the first place was so I could get the combination of ultegra, hydraulic discs, carbon wheels and guards :)

I can understand how people aren't a fan of the way guards look though.

My test ride of it back from B&Q felt extremely fast. I need to raise the seat more  I think and obviously play with the positioning of the handlebars/levers but it doesn't feel too far out. The bike feels like riding on air compared to my old XLS.

edit: I won't post a picture of what it will look like whilst I'm riding to work :p

Finally done (minus a mud guard bolt but I'm off to B&Q to fix that). Woot :)

Weight is 8.7kg, with another 100g to be lost once I get my new bling pedals. Spec is full Ultegra, Shimano hydraulic disc brakes and 50mm deep section rims.

How's the saddle?

do like that! :) nice build, what was the total $$$? :)

I don't mind mudguard too much, they are there for a good reason if this is your full-year-round commuter! I'd try and paint the chrome bits black on them tho! which would result in it looking much better :)

quick 'shop on the rear

I was just about to post the same thing. Looks much better in your photoshop.

Cool looking bike though. Very stealthy!

Hmm..that could work. I'll see if I can get appropriate paint/be bothered :)

Total cost was £1460 not including peddles or saddle. I could probably have got better deals on some of the bits if I'd been more patient but...I'm not :p

Like that. What wheels are they? Do you have a link to them?

Many thanks
