Ssd upgrade questions

So I've bought a Samsung 850 pro to upgrade my pc and im just wondering when i install it will my secondary hdd's just work on the new os (windows 8.1 from 7) or will i need to do some setup process to get the os to see them?

I know its a very noob question and im sure it will just pop up but i just want to be sure. And also if i preload gta v on my secondary drive will the new steam installation on the ssd recognize it and be able let me play it on the new os?

They should just be there, no setup process needed

When you install the OS onto your new SSD, take the secondary drives out. Then, once installed, plug them in and voila they should be there

Make sure the Bios its set to ACHI not IDE before you install the OS.

Could you give me a little explanation on how to do that is it just in the bios menu options and thanks

Yes, under the HDD options.
It'll most likely already be set to ACHI.

When you install OS if you change the location for Steam to install games to the directory with GTA V preloaded, then launch GTA V, it should play without reinstalling as it'll notice the files are already there

This worked for me before when I reinstalled OS, secondary drive had CS:GO already on
