***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

I'm lvl 10, when I tried to do it yesterday via the phone it said something about "not being contacted by someone yet"?

Ah wait, you might have to do the tutorials. Or if you skipped them you'll have to do one race, DM and a capture.

Then you'll get a thing telling you jobs are available, that's when I checked and I could buy a pad.

Can you make your own radio station with your own music from your computer?

Yes like IV, copy mp3s/music or copy shortcuts/links to "My Documents\Rockstar Games\GTA V\User Music"

Then go into the game options and do a scan for music. You can set it to play random, sequential or play it like a radio station with ads and DJ between songs.

Anyone know how to get the game to stick to 144hz after alt tabbing?

Keeps resetting to 59hz when you alt tab..

Other then that.. Game on very high 2x msaa on a 7970 running 60+ fps. Lowest dip is 50 sometimes.

Don't know how they did it but f me thats impressive.

How well do you think this game would run on the below spec?

  • Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz
  • Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB
  • Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 6950 2048MB GDDR5s

Ah ok will have to look into that, I did a bit of the tutorial, raced, robbed the gas station and some drug dealers - obviously more I need to do.

Yes, fill the My Documents/Rockstar Games/GTA V/Music folder with your music

Then configure in the menu.

It works fine though I get 2-3 seconds of insanely low frame-rate every time it swaps from one track to the next. Anyone else get that?

What type of files are they? MP3 or some form of lossless?

Yeah it's a bit daft, because if you skip the tutorial it doesn't really give you much in the way of warning or direction. There's a bit online about it, lot of people had the same problem initially too it seems.

Sounds like your heatsink is coming away from the GPU mate, get new thermal paste on it, it's probably just 4 screws to remove it. 5 minute job.

I have an H55 and a Kraken G10 bracket (modified with a saw lol) on my 980 and it's overclocked to hell. Never goes over 43 degrees in GTA V.

Have you got any pictures of the 980??

Ok downloaded this yesterday on laptop and have transferred it to main rig a wee while ago. Go to install and after discovering files Steam is now at the installation stage, but stuck on the following...

"Creating local game cache files...

Preparing Grand Theft Auto V files for install..."

Has been like that for about 20 mins. and there is no progress on the progress bar although the "..." after "files for install" are flashing so appears to be doing something.

Any ideas what's going on?
