***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

Even though Nvidia and AMD have done very very well with game ready drivers for this are we likely to get drivers in a few months which will make performance even better?

I'd have thought so, now we all have the game both camps will b able to do extra tweeks etc.

Hope R* keeps up with the patches and find xtra ways to boost performance.

I mentioned earlier I was playing it at 3440x1440. Average fps is around 45 I'd say with ultra/very high settings and FSAA on but MSAA off. At 2560x1080 MSAA is on and it's nearly a constant 60fps though. VRAM bar in the settings says with that res and current settings the game will be using around 3GB of VRAM if I remember right.

Visually the game is still sharp at either resolution and the improved smoothness of 60fps is a far better prospect than playing at 45~ at 3440x1440.

It helps that my monitor scales at 2560x1080 very very well.

Great thanks for that, wasn't expecting such a quick reply :) have you tried 3440x1440 with med-high settings vs your 2560x1080 set up?

So want this game but I've just bought the dragon age bundle which I've never played. Is dragon age a good game? If so I'll play that and by the time I finish hopefully this will be cheaper.

Glad im not interested in GTA Online the Single Player works flawlessly. I have been playing for hours today just cruising around and being a ninja assassin and stuff hehe.

Rockstar said that GTA Online was the main focus for GTA 5 but as true as that is because the single player IMO is the worst out of all the GTA games im sure mods will fix that so go away Rockstar your drunk.

Am I the only one who doesn't understand this post? Seems a bit of a contradiction to me.

Got to play some last night for the first time on PC and wow this game is stunning i cant believe how good it plays no stuttering no big drops in fps it just works so smooth id almost forgotten how smooth games can be before this lol

Me too, incredible detail everywhere, runs like a dream all maxed out with my GTX980, currently abandoning any missions & just cruising around exploring & having high speed chases down the freeways, only let down is I keep trying to pick stuff up & search bodies but you can't it seems

Why does my game run like ****? Il be honest I havent updated drivers for at least a year but still
i7 920, 6gb, 7950

I get 30fps with a mix of high/very high 1080p and people are claiming 60fps? I dont get it....

Also easy way to make money online? I didnt get the preorder bonus (should have preordered given that I brought it on release day) so have no cash.

As already mentioned update your drivers...

Plus make sure Vsync is turned off, i believe it caps at 30fps.

Even i'm getting 40-60fps on a 7850 with sensible settings.

Mine runs pretty terribly and also doesn't look amazing, the foliage looks like mesh... with all AA off everything else set to high.

290, 8350 @ 4.4 and 8 Gb ram

Get about 40 fps...

Any suggestions?

I might be wrong in this but in the single player last night im sure it said you can pick up snacks off people you kill to gain your health back not sure if that applies to online as well, yes i bet it runs brillaint on a GTX980 as it runs great on my GTX780 with a few settings turned down like the MSA n stuff but its neealy maxed at 1080p

I think you're the only person who is drunk here. Drinking problem?
