*** The Official Star Wars Battlefront Thread ***

are we watching the same thing ?

I'm watching the live stream but they've not talked about the game at all, just people walking around on the show floor talking to people.

No Campaign? Oh geez. Well I'm out!

Tbh I felt the same, but its got offline missions and amy Henning is onboard with this one. I dunno. Maybe time to move into the new era of gaming , my problem is though playing against others means I get a right kicking. But I so want to see if those visuals they showed off are truly real as the devs claim and I really really want to fly a x wing like in that trailer..

: -( but no story campaign, makes me a sad panda.

Hang on, I Google Amy Henning. She is working on star wars games but from viserical games?? Confused now , so more then one star wars game in development?

Only problem with this game is that it's tied to the film release date, so it's going to be released on 17th November, not when it's ready.

Looks promising though, looking forward to some gameplay footage.

No space battles

No SP campaign

No Prequel content

I'm spoooo tempted to pre-order it but I refuse to pay 50 quid for a pc game. I thought it might have space battles if there's spaceships? I was hopeful you might have a combination where there are ships in space who could support ground troops but it takes time to get there.

I think what seems to be the problem with this game is that it's pulled between two sets of gamers.

On one hand you have the original Battlefront fans who expect a Battlefront like game. i.e, space combat, galactic conquest and instant action SP modes, large variety of planets etc. It focussed on fun more so than precise, clinical elite shooters.

On the other hand you have the Battlefield multiplayer crowd who basically expect Battlefield in a Star Wars skin.

I'm a huge Battlefront fan, loved the first two games, played entirely the single-player modes for countless hours aswell as the 501st campaign in BF2. My major problem with the decision to move away from previous games is that there was no need to do it. They could have easily called it Star Wars Battlefield (or Star Wars Conquest. Star Wars Skirmish. Star Wars DLC-Bonanza etc etc.) There was no need to stamp over the Battlefront brand because it essentially means they're using it to sell a different product.

It's £28 on cd keys atm. ;)
