***Official GTAV PC Thread*** [Important warning updated in the OP]

Been playing Online all morning on and off and enjoying it for the most part - even though loading times are still the same as console. I am frustrated by the lack of one thing - I swear on consoles we could start a sort of private game session for you and your friends...I can't seem to find that anywhere? Also getting frustrated at being labelled a 'bad sport' for quitting MP sessions whilst they're in progress when in reality the game has either locked up, or just dropped unexpectedly.

I bought Apartment 40, Eclipse Towers today for $390k - what a view! :eek:

Is that a good apartment to go for? I don't have a clue what to spend my 1million on. Have just bought a load of guns so far :D.

Sometimes that is a symptom of running out of VRAM (in a way the game wasn't expecting). Also worth trying changing the shadows between the soft, softer, amd and nvidia options (I'm guessing the nvidia one won't work/won't work properly maybe on an AMD card).

Even tried with everything on lowest setting and was still getting it. Plus, I'm well under my vram limit.

I went for Apt 101, but they are all pretty much the same. In reality you probably aren't going to spend any time in it, so it doesn't matter.

yeah I got bored of the waiting for now it must be due to the way they get people connected to each other because single player loads fast multi takes forever.

Also its funny you get invited to a game and they get the session full stuff and come out I can still see people from the free roam I was in before talking still but then they connect you to a new one I mean wtf ? is with that
 
Well I regret buying VorpX. Nothing works that I have tried. All I get is a split screen effect on GTA V. Followed the setup, tutorials, disabled anti virus etc. Kinda bummed now.

Everything else is stock keys and its set up for a pad in portait

The font is in the zip folder so you can add your own buttons

How do people make a lot of money on online? Usual events like races etc are usually <10k and yet you need many thousands to 'trick out your blam blam', and I don't even know how much apartments and helis are.

Alsoz how do i join a server with OCUK crew members in? Im in the crew obviously...

I would say 90-95 degrees maximum. The card can tolerate it but it might be worth setting a custom fan profile. On auto my fan never goes above 50% but it is easy to override and even setting to 60% should see a drop in temps.

At the end of the day the card has a thermal cut out function as a fail-safe so if your PC suddenly shuts down for no reason when playing GTA, chances are something got too hot - most likely your 290.

In nearly 15 months of use my 290 has never been above 95 degrees and also never tripped the thermal fail-safe. If you are still hitting 90-95 degrees at 64% fan duty I suggest you should check your case. Is the card dusty? Is your case clean? Have you got enough case fans and is the airflow through the case good? My fan has never been above 50% even when playing the latest games on ultra but I do have a big, well ventilated case (obsidian 750D).

a lot of people of tricking there way up by winning lots what they do is find a small map like racing round the prison set the laps to one make sure you have a super car and then invite anyone in the low 20's.
Easy wins someone tried it on me it worked just on last bend I was overtaking the person he didn't like that so he rammed me some ppl don't like to lose.

I've got aim assist switched on because I'm using a pad and when I try to join a game with KB & M players it just asks if I want to switch my controls to non-assisted in order to join them. Haven't been locked out of anything or forced to use a KB & M.
 
Game is a pain in the ass to get working but I have sorted it now.

Just waiting for her to go out and am going in wet! ;) Never watched a play through or anything had blinkers on about this game for nearly 2 years.

By the way add me to team in game name itchy2009, same account from GTA 4.. :D
 
Ok. I have caved in and got this on Steam. Upgrading my PC next few months so be able to play at decent FPS. For now I will have to play on lower settings all being well. My PC meets Min Spec so all is good.

Started to D/L now. See you guys on the other side in about 4097374 hours..

i didnt realize it was Passworded until someone tried to join haha i thought it was just another GTA Lobby
