I enjoy racing but it's getting hard trying to find a playlist where everyone is moderatly happy, slipstream off, catchup on, custom vehicles blah blah blah.

More hassle than it's worth.

Wow - 4000 odd posts since Monday week ago (when I was last in the country).

Had a go on SP yesterday and it was very juddery. Disabled most camera effects and blur effects - no difference but I do this on most games. Updated AMD GPU drivers to latest beta = bingo

Played a few hours (or so ) and not a single crash - think I'm about to unlock Lester. Good fun!

Chucked the pre-order cash bonus on the insurance company on the stock market for Franklin (as he's come from humble origins) - logic being if I cause enough carnage, insurance stock price will go up

Looks live I'm out of the game for a while, woke up to an email from rockstar saying my email address has been changed, social club had gone from my PC, no idea how that happened, the email was changed at 00:07 when my PC was off!

I've replied to the email and reinstalled social club but still can't sign in until my account is restored.

I have an issue myself. Played SP fine yesterday afternoon but decided to have a late night hour on it as I didn't feel tired last night. I can't get into SP now either. SP sits on "Loading Story Mode" then eventually times out and says my account has been signed into elsewhere. Obviously I papped it but I was able to get into my Rockstar account. I have changed my password anyway but was still having the issue. I but sacked it in the end and went to bed. I will have to see what happens later when I get home from work and try to play again.

After eight or so frustrating BSODs I lowered my CPU overclock from 4.5Ghz to 4.2Ghz and have been stable ever since. Really enjoying it now!

Perhaps my OC was not as stable as I thought (though played through many games with no BSODs). I will likely crank it back up when I move on to another game and see how it fares.

Met trevor last night in SP, started his missions.

What was a good 50-60fps on mostly high on my GTX580 suddenly became 20fps when doing the sniper mission

That area in the desert with grass everywhere means I'm running at 30fps most of the time too... Might be time to look at an upgrade.

Shame those 780ti's at £250 are sold out I'll probably pick up a 980ti when they're released but could do with something cheap and powerful in the meatime (SLI isn't an option, would need a new Mobo).

I really need to sort out my controls for this game. My faffing around is really getting in the way of my enjoyment.


I'm glad I'm still rolling at 1920x1200 and haven't taken the plunge to 1440p. My wee little m-itx setup with its r9270x 4GB and AMD CPU is doing a grand job, with no crashes either.

Same here. I like being introduced to the map a bit at a time as I branch out and do more jobs.

Got to say the single player is much better than online. The mission and characters are great in the single player game. My brother has had GTA5 since launch and has yet to even play the single player . I keep telling him how much he's missing out but he says that he's paid for a years live gold so he's going to get his moneys worth...

Yeah he's certainly an individual... Reminds me of Boyd Crowter in Justified - slightly deranged, and dangerous but underneath you get the impression he's much more intelligent than he looks

Oh and after crashing 3/4/5 times flying, I resorted to my 360 controller - flying in this game is impossible on the keyboard and mouse.

He's much funnier than Boyd though imo. One of the best characters ever! Really hope there is some story dlc with him in it, or he makes it into the next game. Too good a character to end there.

Wondering how people who don't use any voice comms out of the game are getting on with "online", I've no idea what I'd do if it wasn't for having a couple of crews to play with and communicate with, the game would just feel like a griefing hell hole!

I'm OK on the controller but struggling with the last two flight school missions, got gold on the rest fairly easily but those last two.. I just cannot do them well at all!!

Gave up last night, potentially due to my low level and the "shudder" that happens when flying.. I probably need to simply fly more first.

I have all gold using keyboard and mouse, and had low flying skill when I started so it's not that.

One thing Rockstar nail in pretty much all their games is the humour and story - I'm not expecting GTA V to be lacking in this area


On another note - what's the minimum GPU power needed to completly, 100% max out the graphics while running at 1920x1080 and keeping a solid 60fps (minimum of 50fps) everywhere? Will a 770 (4GB version) have the power for this or am I realistically gonna need a 780/ti?

Trying to work out what I could buy to keep me going between now and the 980ti launch.

Its a good game and it looks good, but a Titan X to max game at 1080p!! It doesnt look THAT good to need such power.

Something that they have not nailed is the flying with KB+M. It's much harder than it needs to be.

I'd agree with that.

For MSAAx8, FSAA, TXAA, Ultra/Very High, Postfx at 1080p with VSYNC at a solid 60fps.

Grass is a killer.
