Went to Budapest in 2005 for the grand prix, lovely place, people were amazing, and what shocked me the most is how well the majority of them spoke English.

They don't like calling themselves Hungarian, they all seem to like to call themselves Magyar, so you might get a better response if you asked if there's any Magyar.

Quite, my grandfather was Magyar, a Hitler loving, racist, landed gentry officer type, hate the fact that I worshiped him as a child, if he were around today I would have nothing to do with him.

On another note I am quite sure they are a different people in general today but the racism and denial about things that happened in WW2 still comes across from that side of the family.

I guess they are simply hanging on to old prejudice and maybe still annoyed about losing so much after the war.

My impression of Magyar's in general is they really quite like us, anyone with prejudice these days are just like the national front types we have over here, an annoying minority.
